I am fairly new to pole and have upped my training intensity when I got a pole at home. I’ve noticed when I train heavily on inverts or pull-up type exercises my upper back starts to hurt. Is this normal?

Hi! by hurt do you mean muscle soreness, achy feeling? If so that’s totally normal and what happens when we train. If you mean you have pain in your spine or experience sudden sharp pain, that doesn’t go away, that’s when you worry and take steps to care for the injury.

I mean dull achy pain. It doesn’t feel like typical muscle soreness but perhaps it’s because they are different muscles that I’ve never used before. It feels good to do the cat stretch or roll it.

Sounds like muscle soreness to me. 😊 Be sure to have rest days 🤗
