Vidoe comments and replies

I have noticed that I have to keep checking my vids so that I know who has commented. I don't get an automatic ding in my mail to tell me I have new comments which would be an awesome feature. I have started replying to these comments directly to the user's profile because I have also noticed that when I reply, they don't know unless they also continue to check my vid. It's like leaving a voice mail for someone who doesn't have the ability to check their messages. So, I check my videos at least once every few days and I make a note as a reply that i have sent a than you to the person's mailbox. That way, there is more of a two way conversation for people who ask questions. I can imagine this is particularly difficult for people who have lots of videos posted. I only have like 4, so it isn't as hard for me...I wonder will these feature be added in the future to help the flow of communication between users?

I agree, that would be awesome... it's so easy for the comments to get lost... or to feel kinda desperate 😳 always looking at your own vids to see if someone's commented... i don't need to watch them again, i danced them, but i do want to know if' someone's said something! 🤸

Yeah, I just posted my very first video (after being on SV practically since the beginning!) and I ran away from the computer because I was afraid. When I got back on to peek, I had gotten a lot of comments and responded to each one. I would hate to think that someone took the time to watch and comment, and think that I wouldn't take the time to respond back to their kind words or encouragement! I do think that responding personally by sending an email is a good idea, but I would hate to invade someone's personal cyberspace if they hadn't invited me in, you know what I mean? I think Webmaster is working on something but it would take a huge amount of work for them. But it would be nice...

I wonder if that is a common thought.
