Video ratings & comments

I was just curious about changing the settings for our video comments and ratings. I thought I saw somewhere that we could turn off our ratings... maybe? I was just wondering if there was a way to turn it off after the video is posted? It just seems like people are rating really low on videos here and I'm surprised because everyone is usually so loving. And I want to be able to delete comments or maybe turn on the option to accept comments before they are posted? Does that exist? I dunno, I got a comment or two that weren't nice and actually meaner than some of the "mean" stuff I got on YouTube. If these settings don't exist then this can be a post for the suggestion forum. ^_^

I've noticed that lately... there seems to be a few people rating the videos really low and I find that dissapointing. I hate the idea of giving anything less than 5 stars, because there's always something really good about a video - someone nailing a new move, their energy, their hardwork, jaw dropping booty popping, etc 🙂 But I haven't seen any mean comments before (but with so many videos posted daily now, I haven't watched all the videos). I'm sorry that someone would say something bad to you ABC. I think that's the kind of attitude that Veena does not want on her website. Should you see a negative comment, send Veena an email with that person's Username and the comment that person wrote. I'm sure she'll deal with that person in a way she sees fit. With this website having gown as much as it has and is continuing to grow, there are bound to be negative people joining this website and spreading their attitude. SV members as a whole should probably look out for these people and let them know that we won't tolerant that sort of behaviour. If they want to be negative, stay with Youtube. 😎

😲 So sorry to hear you are getting mean comments here. That is not okay! I dont think the option to turn off ratings and such is available here, maybe bring it up as a suggestion in Friday chat or shoot Webbie or Veena a message. I think it would be a nice option... You can always send the mean writer a message too. Most likely people doing that are unfamiliar with the supportive attitude here and are maybe too used to YouTube. Personally, if I dont have something nice to say I dont say anything at all! Wish more people would do the same sometimes.... But you are lovely and awesome ABC, dont forget that! 🥂

Chances are its the same person leaving low ratings. Thats how jealous people work. I just need to know who is leaving the rude comments. Its not accepted here, just let me know.

One last thing, I forgot....no you can't turn off the ratings. I never really thought that they were necessary, because everyone always gives five stars....except... for the occasional accidental low rating or when we have a member who is not familiar with what is acceptable behavior here. 🙄 I can have webmaster just get read of the ratings if you all would prefer that....remember it only takes one low rating to bring it down below 5 stars and the site is so NOT about competition so, I would have no problem loosing that function. Please keep in mind...I'm not webmaster and I don't know how long that might take. 🤓 Please remember everyone...that if your having issue's with another member or something that has happened on the site, PLEASE send me an email, spam, rude or disruptive behavior is NOT tolerated here and I can't speak with the person if I don't know about it. I can't possibly read all the comments on everyone profiles and videos, so I need your help, this is not just my site its OUR site so its up to all of us to keep it the amazing supportive place it always has been and will be. The only way you guys can be sure that I see something, is if you contact by email through my studioveena account here. ABC please don't let some rude person make you feel bad, I think your wonderful.The site has about 8000 members 😲 😮 thats a lot of people, and honestly, I would think we would have more issues like this but we don't...because they know its not worth it and its not something we tolerate here!!! 🙄 🤸 🤸 🤸 🤸 🤸 🤸 🤸

I've seen one rude comment on someone elses video and I was like "OMG, I can't believe she said that!" That person is not a regular poster, chatter or video uploader so I think she may have been using her youtube voice in the house if Veena LOL. These people probably just need to be told what is accepted and they'll either switch it up or leave.

Yeah I noticed it too, I even replied to a video of ABC b/c she's a friend from youtube and facebook and I saw her video had 2 stars at one point and I thought it wasn't very nice...and totally unwarrented...very youtube like everyone was saying. I noticed some of my picture/videos were rated at 3's and 2's aswell and I chalk it all up to people who are jealous of the openess we all have on this site, and the few rare people who show up on here and like to bring others down. As of late I have noticed its getting better people are not rating things as low as they were when I first became a member, I thought maybe it was because I was new or something but I love to encourage and cheer people on no matter WHAT they are doing! I love this site! I know how it can be discouraging when you see less than 5 stars but dont let it get anyone down!! Poley Love to all!

.....Who-the-hell. What-the-hell, and are they still here, so we can commence to DIRTY MESSAGING? 'Cause I am SO ON IT. I also think the star system should disappear. It's kind of ... pointless. Either you LOVE the person, and you love everything they do and you haven't heard of anything but 5. Or you're like, a tough love person, and you happily put 3s and 4s just to be nitpicky, did you know tough love isn't nice? OR you're a studioveena invader and you put 1's.

I agree there is no need for the troublesome stars. They were just there so we left them. Please let me know if you all would like them gone. Better yet...does anyone care if they are gone???? If you don't they can be removed no prob. 😉 🤓

I've noticed recently that people are giving low stars, which is just not right. This is a place to come for encouragement and nurturing. Just for putting yourself out there and posting a video you earn 5 stars! I wouldn't mind if the stars dissapeared. We would still be able to comment and give advise and compliments. Just my two cents 🙂

I would like to see an option to turn off... - star rating - comment rating And I would love to get a notification or a little message when I log on that I have new comments on my videos or profile. 😀

Personally, I do like to give out stars. 😀 Lots and lots of stars. 🥂 I only give five star ratings though. I use them when I don't have the time to comment, or don't really know what to comment, but I always like to use the five stars just to show my respect for the vid. So I would suggest to get rid of the option to give less than five stars; or replace it with another way of quick-respect-showing 👍 Just my 2 cents..

I'm comfortable enough in my skills but I still rather not have to see a low rating or read rude comments. So if you have an OPTION to turn it off then you have some flexibility, you know?

personally, i never cared for the stars; even the most secure person can look at their video and be like, "what? i got 8 ratings, and another vid got 19???". i always give 5 stars on every vid i watch, but i wouldn't miss it if it were gone. emails whenever a new comment is posted on a video would be amazing too!! 🙂

Ooh! What about kudos! like on bloggies! That's a pretty neat way of saying, "I watched it, I enjoyed it, but I always sound like a pervert when I comment so it's better that I do this instead of telling you how juicy your ass looks."

You can read minds too? You took the words right out of my mouth 😂 But seriously, sometimes it's hard to find the right words to voice your opinion. Especially when English is not your first language, like for a lot of girls here. I sometimes worry that I'm choosing the wrong words, and my comment won't come across in the right way, or worse, be totally misunderstood. 😲 😳 So that's why I vote for 'kudos' or a 'respect-button' or... well anything else you creative folks can come up with.. 💡

I personally do not post on SV to get rated so I wouldn't have any problem with removing that option. I post to share my mistakes, successes, and progress and to share what I love with others 🙂 I like having comments because I am always looking for constructive criticism but I really don't care about the rating. 😉 Fleur

I agree with fluer, I post on here with things im trying, or successes, or if I need help with something. No matter how confident you are in what your doing a lower than 5 rating brings ur moral down, and thats not the point of sharing on here. Kudos is a brilliant solution when you dont know what to write, but ya liked what ya saw.

Yeah, I got some low stars and it hurt. 🙁 But I love giving stars b/c they represent encouragement. In my opinion everyone deserves good stars because everyone here is trying so damn hard at something that is really damn hard to do! Everyone deserves 5 stars for not being lazy and everyone deserves it for showing that ALL women's bodies are beautiful!! 🌈 Maybe just give people the option to get stars or not.....

Im glad I read this post because I too had noticed that there have been a lot of low ratings here lately. Personally I think its someone (or more than one person) trying to piss people off here! Im sooooo glad that the star rating is gone so that those people cant anonymously be mean to others anymore! 😈 Man I love this site! 😀 Thanks Veena & Chris for making it a happy place!

I posted to this reply earlier but didnt see post, so by chance if you see it, sorry for the double post. Ok I am a newbie and I have seen others with very sweet comments which I knew that was the best thing to do, which I have gave 5 stars. Personally I think it is a good thing. With my first pole video, I think I had like a 4 stars, but I was like everyone else has 5 ,what is wrong with me. I will admit, I vowed to not post another video until I am better. But you know my girls are my heart. If anyone gives me negative comments, THey are the ones that will pick me up. If you hear my daughter on my vids I post she will say I am good, which I know I am not. She doesnt see what we see, but as she call me her pretty momma, she sees me as a perfect pole dancer lol. ANd when she was giving me those pointers and rooting me on, I had to post them. SO if someone does say I look bad, I just ask her how I look guess what she will say, You Look Good Ma!!! So my babies pick me up when the others attempt to push me down. It was all because of my baby that made me reconsider about posting those videos because I promise you seeing that someone may have thought my video shouldnt be up, I was gonna give them what they wanted. I have a friend that made a negative comment about that cartoon pic of me. GUess who said I was pretty and was so facinated, YOU GOT IT MY BABY GIRL. I had to post it as my wallpaper on my desktop. My baby is facinated with me when the next person isnt, ANd it is ok that they feel that way, I have cheerleader that feel I am great. So give me 0 stars, what my daughters give me will outnumber my heart TEARS TUG TUG 😂

Don't worry yrklt WE LOVE YA 🥂 .....There was just an obnoxious person who commented and gave low ratings to others or yourself. I KNOW non of our fantastic regular members would ever be rude like that! There was clearly a jealous and inconsiderate member that did not understand that we don't accept rude behavior on Studioveena!! Trust me, we LOVE to seen new dancers and people working on new moves....the site is NOT about who is best at anything, its about supporting one another in a skill we all love. If the person was trying to get people to stop posting or bring our supportive spirit down...well that wont work here! Its great to look back at old videos and see how much a member has grown as a pole dancer. 🌸 Anyway...the stars are gone....they were never necessary, I also think the site looks better with out the stars!

I am so happy to see the stars gone! 🥂 Thanks V! We didn't ever need them. I am surprised to hear that people were leaving negative comments HERE and rating videos low. So sad. I have this happen a lot of YT and figured I deserved the lower ratings but here I'm shocked! I'm glad the ratings are gone. I think videos should be for feedback - real feedback, help and encouragement so not having the stars forces us to write something -even it it's short and connect with someone else - I like it!
