Veena how do you do it ?

Accomplish so much while being a mom that is? I have 1 child, a 4 year old and yet i still find it hard to get things done and make time for poling,dancing and other stuff I am interested in. I can't afford a nanny and only use sitters occasionally when i have to because even that costs a lot... I end up staying up late a lot but can only get so much done then... Veena how do you do it with four kids? What is a typical day like for you? How do you get it all done? ( and any one else to that wants to share their secret!) 🙂

Oh dear, this could be a long post from me.....well at the moment I am working on editing new lessons but promised myself I would stop at 9:30 to do some flexibility training, so I have to priorities CONSTANTLY lol ...so I'll give you a closer look into my world tomorrow. ☀️ I have 3 mins left now....... ahhhh

You know I ask myself that as well. I have 2 (6 and almost 2), thier activities (mostly the oldest - Girl Scouts and Hockey), my full time job, and trying find time for my friends and the occasional date with my husband (I use occasional very loosely), then train for the comp im in, take pole class. Ugh, theres only so many hours in a day!

What I do may not work for everyone.....but for me its a matter of prioritizing and consistency. Consistency is very important for my kids so I can accomplish what needs to be done without unnecessary interruption. Its tough when they are young to always be consistent but it pays off in the end. Discipline, bed time, dinner time always consistent even when we are really busy in our lives some things are always unchanging, consistent. I can trust my kids to play well while I work or do my training because they know what is expected of them while I work. Every night we all clean up the main floor so we can enjoy some family time before the kids go to bed, this is something we do almost every night. I make a meal plan every week (hate doing this) then go grocery shopping for that week. Prioritizing is very important as well. Some days I spend all day cleaning, laundry ect. other days must be spent recording lessons or editing. For work I have certain things I have to do everyday but other than that I have to be flexible in my priorities. You have to have balance....but that doesn't mean designating equal time for everything ALL THE TIME but rather being flexible in what the priorities are for that moment. To me this is a balanced life. You can't physically balance without slight adjustments, same approach can be used in our daily life. My job is pole dance so for me working out is a priority (most of the time) There are still times when I must put that off and focus on something else. When Henry was a baby I didn't get to dance very often and now that he is older I am loving my pole time again. 🥂 Not sure if that was helpful but..... 🤓 🤓 🤓

I would like to contribute here as well if I may. Veena and I have taken a much more Free-Range or classic approach to raising children, rather than filling every minute with activities we allow our kids to direct their own time, we encourage them to find their own activities such as playing with legos, drawing, chasing around the neighborhood with their friends, reading and even occasionally playing video games. Our oldest is now learning to play clarinet using a book and his own ability to read with occasional input from Mommy or Daddy. Our thought and strategy behind this approach is that it is how we were raised, and we turned out alright. If we were to take our children to multiple sports, organizations and other events even with both of us there would be no time to get done what we need to accomplish to insure that we stay sane and enjoy life as individuals and a family. Evaluate everything in your life for the value it brings, and quickly eliminate anything that doesn't achieve one of two goals: a) It gets you closer to your family or individual goals. b) It brings you joy. If something doesn't fit one or both of the above criteria it should be quickly eliminated from your schedule.

Yay Veena and Webmaster! I raise my children the same way.I have three (8,5 and 4) We feel that it's way too stressful on our children and ourselves to try and get them in to activities. I'm glad I didn't. I would have thought my eldest would be into ballet, but as it turns out she's a science geek and that was only because we allowed her to be herself. 🙂 It's just proves you don't have to "enrich" your child to be a good parent. P.S. I use big index cards for my chore to do lists. you can fold them up and put them in your pocket. Also it keeps things neat. Oh one more thing Kraftfoods.com has ready made menus that are easy enough to taylor to your own tastes.
