So happy came across a name for this grip. I use it for my sm now feels so safe. I was doing it last week at my class and no one hand ever seen it before. So glad other people do use it.and if your not feeling to safe going all the way to pole in sm try this grip worked great for me xxx

I've also heard it called a flip grip :)

I just came acrosss it while training my sm. I was finding buy using doubled cupped once my legs got to the pole I didn't feel safe. In this grip feel totsly secure and works. well with doing a bk hook into sm. I finally got rid of the wrist trouble. I t stopped about a week ago your tip to pull more with top arm worked great :) xxx

This is what I am going to try first when I get lessons again! I have heard good things about this grip!!!

It takes a bit more abdominal strength at the beginning of the move, but it's nice and secure at the top! I came up with the variation one day when Amber (fleur) was over at my place, we didn't know what to call it soooo. There ya go.

In glad I found it. I was using cupped grip when learning sm. But I found when I got higher up I didn't feel to safe. So played about with my grip. Thenst class my instructor said thats a very strange grip. Then when I looked round and seen no one else using it I was stood thinking OK I'm a bit strange haha. But then she told me its a great grip for back hook to shoulder mount but that's the only time she seen its used. But I think its a great grip and feels so safe :) xxx
