anyone else have problems with a vailted ceiling and a lil mynx pole? the actual mount is spinning into the ceiling and crushing the sheetrock, not safe! lil mynx sent a new bolt, but i am still having the same problem. it does just fine on a flat ceiling, but i got this pole so i could use it in my living room.

Are you sure you have it at a joist? You need to have a special bolt for vaulted ceilings ... I know Platinum Stages offers it for their poles, don't know about Mynx.

ya, it's in the joist. my husband used to frame houses and he put it up the second time.
I know people have had issues with the lil mynx eating through the drywall even on flat ceilings. Mine is in my garage...directly into the joist. Not really sure how to help out with this one. I know that Nymphdancer has a lil mynx and a vaulted ceiling and she had to do something special. You may want to pm her.
we had that problem with mine when we first mounted it, that coupled with my heavier then reccomended niece brought it down. When we put it back up what we did was mount a piece of wood to the ceiling THEN mounted the pole to the wood. Did that about 2 years ago and it has been steady as a rock since on my vaulted ceiling.
This SAME exact thing happened to me!! My issue turned out to be the sheet rock being 3 INCHES THICK! The screw that came with the mount originally was hardly drilled into the stud since it had to go through so much drywall...thus, the mount turned along with the pole...which was also turning on the carpet (ugh). We had to drill a hole the diameter of the mount into the sheet rock and screw the mount directly into the stud. Boyfriend was wonderful enough to build me an actual stage (5.5foot x 5.5foot) in which we drilled the base of the pole. I havent had anymore problems with it turning since then. I would just make sure that your mounting screw is going all the way into your stud and its TIGHT. Good Luckkkk!!!!! <3
I've had my Lil Mynx now for three years and its been fine until now. A month or two ago it began to squeak,. But just a few days ago, it also began to cause small pieces of the ceiling to fall just from jiggling it with my hand. The hole in the ceiling is a little bigger on one side than the other but that's the side I climb on the most. The other side of the hole is perfectly fine and doesn't allow the pole to move at all. I'm supposed to hear from the manufacturer today for advice. But I'm also looking into purchasing the X pole since its designed to fit higher in other parts of the house. Besides, I really need the proper amount of space to practice.
