Valentino brothers' stretching DVDs

Hi, everyone, I know there was a post on this three years ago, but I was wondering if anyone has used any of these DVDs lately. I'm thinking about purchasing the side splits, front splits, back bending intermediate combo. I know there's stretching routines here on studioveena but I'm just looking for other methods to use alongside veena's lessons. Any information would be great, Thank you Xxx

From what I've seen of their download stuff, it's very advanced without a lot of direction but maybe the dvd's are different? I know many girls have enjoyed using Alethea's stretching dvd's along with the lessons here.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I have both alethea's stretching DVDs and didn't particularly enjoy them or find myself advancing at all by using them. So I summed it up to it just not being for me. I then lost her pure splits DVD and didn't want to spend another 20+ pounds getting it back lol xx

Do you feel like you're stuck as far as progress? Maybe try meeting up with someone and stretching together, we have a webcam function in the chat room.

That's definitely something I could look into, that's awesome. As far as progress goes, my front splits are getting there, but I just don't feel anymore flexible. Like, for an example, I can sit closer to the ground, but I can't kick any higher, etc. My middle splits and back bending I don't seem to be making much progress in, if any at all. And I've been stretching properly for almost four months. I've heard good things about the DVD's, I thought maybe they'd be able to help. xxx

I know others here have worked with them so maybe they can tell you if it's worth it. Kicking higher is dynamic movement so doing static stretches will not improve that greatly. Try doing the Lower body routine https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/52e9d171-5724-43b2-8784-47960a9aa0eb this has dynamic movement in it, you can also do this routine as a warm up before stretching. With middle splits remember that not everyone can achieve a perfect middle split, it's great to work on them but not necessary to have a middle split. Back bending is one that can take time too. Yoga can be great for working on back mobility.

I tried the DVD's (I was pregnant at the time), I felt I made more progress stretching on my own, and I don't have almost an hour three days a week to lie on the ground stretching. The stretching themselves felt good, but for me wasn't worth the money.

I have the front split and spine stretching system DVD. I really like the stretches in this DVD and found their tone to be quite soothing. The quality of the DVD isn't professionally done- it was more if a home movie quality but I liked the stretches and found them beneficial. I adapted the stretches to what worked with my body. I also found some great tips in this particular DVD. I have many resources for stretching and this was just one of the many supplemental resources I've utilized.

So much of what we consider flexibility training has little to do with our muscles. This is a little known fact! We all carry tension in different areas of our bodies, so tight hamstrings for instance, could actually be due or inhibited by neck tension. Neural mobility and fascia tension is often the cause of being 'stuck' and not seeing increases in flexibility, even though you're stretching.

I have the lower level splits DVD and haven't found it particularly good or useful. Movements aren't very broken down or explained well. I like the Fit and Bendy one much more.
