Veena...if I'm understanding this correctly, entering the regionals is like entering the amateur at the comp in March. Either way your status is "amateur" and you're competing to earn a pro status. Just out of curiosity I would be interested in knowing the concept behind why they chose "pro" and "amateur" as the titles as opposed to maybe "elite" or something else? Yes, I think that's right....I think. 🤔 but in March I believe everyone is "amateur" I don't think they have a "pro" status comp at that time. I too would like to know the concept behind Pro and Amateur, I just don't wanna put anyone off by entering a comp that is really for Amateurs only, when I have a pole business. you know? If I were a new dancer, and I saw someone enter an "Amateur" level comp, who instructs and owns a pole business I would be put off by that and wonder what they think their doing. I'm probably just totally misunderstanding the whole category thing. I know I would have a snow ball chance in hell if I were to enter Pro. (not that I can anyway) 😂 But here's the thing, I love the thought of performing I can get up in front of people no problem, but not competing, (a trickster... I am not) my mind begins to think..ohh..their judging you 🧿 and its way to stressful to me. I have been working hard to not compare myself to others and I think this would be detrimental to that goal....for me anyway. Maybe it would be a good thing, I really don't know. 🤔 I could go on and on with excuses, but it all comes down to I'm a chicken poop and I'm confused about the "Pro" "Amateur" thing. 🙄
yea.. thats why i entered pole superstar.. it said all levels.. pffft and then when i saw amateur i got excited again till i read it and i was like aww... suck rofl
Veena I'm pretty certain that March has both a pro and an amateur division. The pro being only for those who qualified through regionals or through last year's event.

No I get that Empyrean.....I meant, I would think about competing in regionals next year. As far as I could tell there is no "Pro" division for regionals. I haven't looked on the site about that yet but thats just what I have gathered so far.
OH..l thought you said no pro in March. yes...that's the way I understand it too...at regionals everyone starts out as amatuer level. I feel the same though...I hate to compete. However I also hate to perform. I freeze up whenever I have to get on stage no matter what the reason. I'm more of a teacher/coach.
I would love to go and watch the USPDF, I was trying to find out how to get tickets, like how much they are and where to get them but I couldn't find any info, anyone know how to gets tickets, and roughly how much they cost??

I've been waiting for this info too! They were supposed to put up that info on their site on Nov 26th (for everyone who's not a member), but then they changed it to December sometime unspecified. Blast! I want to go SO BAD, but i really need to know how much it's going to cost so I can start preparing NOW! Eee gads! I hate waiting! 🙄 😁

I caved and entered too -- literally as I was about to board a plane back home from Austin to LA! It ended up being one of my USPDF West practice videos, so I'm not sure it will make the cut since the moves will be familiar. Ah well, there's always next year.

How will we know who gets to go? Will it be on their site.....and the question is will I be able to find it. 😂 😂 😂 🤓

I was told they'd likely make their decision within a week of receiving the entries, so hopefully we'll know by Friday!

I don't have the answer, but I'll for sure share any news I hear. I know about a dozen people who've entered, and you know how news travels fast!

I was told that we would know by the end of the week....I'm assuming that those picked will be contacted probably by phone...and then it would be posted on their website...not sure though!!

I was notified via email last time for the East Coast Comp, so I am assuming they will notify again the same way. I found out a couple days after the final submission date, so we should hear by the end of the week! I'm still waiting on my routines via DVD from them from the last Comp....When you all that entered find out, let us know on here!

I was looking forward to the Pro submissions - but I'm only seeing one. Was there a different process for them to follow or something?
A lot of them resubmitted their previous videos. I know Leigh Ann Orsi resubmitted hers, as well as Lisa Wilhoit (Amateur), but they could've sent in their videos via DVD. I guess we'll have to wait and see the results!!

I submitted, but only decided about an hour before the deadline! I was afraid to commit since the Championships take place during my annual trip to Miami (my fiancé plays at a music conference every year) but in the end, I figured if by some stroke of luck I happen to make it, that it was more important than laying out by the beach anyway 🙂 I didn't have time to put together a new video, so I submitted one of my old USPDF practice videos. I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one who opted to recycle though.

GatorGirl4Life, finally got a chance to watch your entry (Youtube won't play at work - aargh) - you did a beautiful job! I loved all your combos on the spinning pole and your jade split. Very strong routine. Good luck!

I was looking forward to the Pro submissions - but I'm only seeing one. Was there a different process for them to follow or something? alot of them sent their vids as email attachments or through another site other than youtube! 🙁 I emailed anna and wendy asking them why i wasnt seeing any pro entries and hoping that everyone didnt forget! lol
Any news? Anyone? The suspense is killing me!
