Using chalk for pole grip

I lost my bottle of pole grip and i need it because my clubs poles are SUPER SLIPPERY. I bought gym chalk. Do you think that will work?

It may work if you have sweaty hands? I think like I've heard of some using it, but I never have.

I use liquid chalk, I have sweaty hands and it works for me the best. Chalk bars do the same, you have to add them more often and they crumble.
