Upstairs?

Hi, I've been taking pole lessons in my last year at Uni and really want to continue when I move home in the summer. There is no where to install a pole downstairs and I can't find information anywhere about whether or not poles can be installed on first floors? Anyone know if this is okay? Will it damage the floor/ceiling? Many thanks
