Upset about my X-pole : (

I have had my 45mm Xpert pole for only 5 months. After reading a thread on here about slipping x joints recently, I took my pole down to inspect it and to my horror, noticed that the top extention has started to flare out at the joint on the actual pole. I called Xpole today (Australia) to ask their advice and the lady told me to take the pole down, pull it apart and take photos of the flared part and the x joint. I did this, and sadly noticed that the joint has slipped around inside the pole and I can not even get the key into the hex joint to take it apart :( The lady from xpole said to not use the pole anymore and to email her the photos, which I have done. She said she'd try to get back to me within 24hrs. I am so upset that has happened! Now I have no pole to use :( I hope they get back to me soon with a solution.

Eeek...your post reminds me to check my pole tonight when I get home!! I also have a 45mm XPert, I didn't have any issue with installation but one section of the pole I received was defected (it has tiny dents on the side where it cut my hands) I called up XPole US, took some pictures, send it to them and they send me a new one. My bf bought me my pole early June...I put it up mid-June and I haven't checked it since then. I hope hope hope the joints are holding up. I live in a tiny apt where I have limited space and can only use a pole that doesn't require drilling, I didn't have any other choice other than XPole... @Butterflies - I hope XPole can your issue!! Keep us posted!! ^_^

Thanks guys, I hope they will help too. About the link, I don't understand how you are supposed to get the joint out of the pole when it is tightened??? Isn't the idea of tightening the x joint supposed to be that the joint stays put inside the pole? I refuse to try and smash it out with anything, as I don't think that is a good solution. I think doing that with a tightened joint inside will only damage the actual pole. I don't know if the metal is strong enough to cope with that, considering the metal is flaring out already because of the "hex key" on the joint. Think I'll just wait and see what they say because there is nothing on the Australian xpole website that says to bash it with a broom handle lol!

The easiest way to get it out is to take a broom handle and put it inside the tube and hit the broom on the floor until the joint comes out, it works.

I know it's frustrating. I have the same issue with my x-pole. I've demantled it twice, and still the x-joint rotates between the A & B poles. At this point, I just let the joint twist around, however, I've noticed that my A pole is begining to flare. Although I love the concept of this pole, I'm pissed at spending close to $400.00 bucks, for a product that I have to constantly maintain. :(

Yeah I'm pretty annoyed too, I spent over $500 on mine and thought this was a top of the line pole. I like the concept of the dome at the top but that seems to be the only good feature! I'm looking into other poles at the moment. Don't know how keen I am on the raved about xpole. Think there is a bit too much hype on it now that I've had this happen to it after not even 6 months, and I don't even use it that much! It would be lucky to get used 3 times a month! Very very sad :( I emailed xpole again today but they still have not replied *very sad face*.

UPDATE: I ended up phoning them up just before, and the lady said that they do have a 6 month warrantee, which means mine is still covered. She said she will look into it more on Monday and they may be able to replace the faulty sections. I'm feeling slightly better about the situation and the fact she was quite helpful over the phone. I'll update again when I hear back from them ;)

On the X joint there is a little allen screw that should stick out a little. This fits into a groove where the sections come together. This allen screw needs to be sticking out a little. This *should* help with the internal rotation. In this picture you can see the little allen...it is the one right in the middle of the X joint. Check yours and be sure that it is out just a hair. Thanks chemgoddess ;), I would look, but I can't get the xjoint out of the pole :-/ I'm just going to wait until I hear back from xpole Australia before I do anything at all with it. Thank you for the pointer though! Is that middle bit called a "hex screw"?

Unfortunately the only solution I have found is using a piece of metal conduit ( a la Empy) to get the xjoint out. At xpole they say broomhandle, but I've already broken 2 brooms that way. I understand you don't want to damage either the pole or the joint, but if it's unsafe to use, then it doesn't matter anyway. I am totally frustrated and fed up with my xperts. The joints rotate maddeningly, and I also have 1 B pole that is flaring out dangerously. I have written a long letter documenting my experience to Kimara, but have yet to hear back (this was about 2 weeks ago). They used to be such a great product and it's sad to see their quality fall so low.

I checked my pole last night...everything seems to look fine. (Wheeew...::wiping sweat on forehead::) But then, I've only had my pole for a little over a month and I only pole 2-3 times a week. (keeping my fingers crossed!!) When you guys said "rotated joints" I'm guessing it means you can't find the hole of the "hex"?? Or your x-joints just get stuck in the pole tube?? I applied anti-seize lubricant on all the thread prior to putting my pole together, and so far I've taken my pole down several times and they were never stuck. I highly recommend that product... For people who have a "stuck" joints, have you tried spray WD40 and let it sit for a little bit then try to get it out again? Maaaybe it helps w/ a little lube....
