Hi guys, I've had upper arm pain between the elbow and the shoulder for a while now. Has anyone else experienced this after a pole workout? I'm suspicious that it could be from practicing the aerial TG lift thats caused it but then I do some heavy lifting/carrying at work anyway... I overworked my back once and had pains there for a while but it went away after a while. Eeekkkk

All sorts of thing hurt me after a work out. Yes, I have had that arm pain and I am not even doing advanced moves!

Twisted grips could have caused the pain. If it doesn't feel better in a day or two I would lay off the TG and see a Dr.
I've had a lot of arm/wrist pain in the last few months! I finally figured out why. While I am strong, I learned twisted grip long before other holds (cup & true). Unfortunately, with TG you are unable to really contract the arm and use strength to support you, it is more of a "dead hang" which is what causes the arm pain. I've had to lay of TG for the last few months, focus on training my other grips so that my arm & shoulder are strong enough to activate during the "pull" of handsprings. Once you do that, TG makes a bit more sense and it takes some pressure off, but your rotator cuff is still in an unnatural plane of motion - be careful. Hope that helps!

Hi shelbsy33, Yeah I get the feeling it could be when I was training the air TG lift, iron x and chinese flag sequence that caused the damage. It's taken longer than when I hurt my back to heal and it's still causing me pain, certain movements such as pulling my top off over my head and sleeping on my side (bad arm facing ceiling) hurts. Sadly I think I will have to give up the twisty for a few months too but it gives me motivation to work on my other grips. :(
