So apparently my future brother in law is under the impression that I am doing strip dance...and he is making his disapproval known throughout my extended family. Bla.

Well first off---who cares if you are? I love how people think everything is their business! Gawd....I tell people all the time in all sorts of different situations---You don't have to like it, but you need to accept it---cuz guess what?? It’s not your life and it’s none of your biz! Love and accept unconditionally.(start telling him that) Opinions are like assholes--we all one, but no one else needs to hear it! lol I have absolutely no problem whatsoever putting people back in their place and if it means I am a complete b*tch---So be it. Secondly, would he be this way if it was just your belly dancing? Likely not, as that dance form is a little more respected in today’s day and age. However, Pole is a respected art form and it continues to gain more as we represent it. Most non-conventional forms of dance were scandalous at one time or another. Ballet is one of the only ones I think that escaped that negative connotation. Thirdly, represent Pole as it means to you. Put the jack*ass back in his place....... Huge hugs and don't let him get to you~~~ From athletic to sexy---we love our poles! They never complain when you want them to be clean before you play with them. They don't mind getting warmed up before we go full speed ahead. They are always erect and waiting for our attention! hehehe...... hugs hun! reenie
that's not his business!!! u should put him on the pole and tell him to try to do the tricks u do..hha i guess he would fall flat down the floor lol never let someone to judge of a thing u do and love..even if u were a stripper they have to take u for who u are.. narrow-minded people make me really angry.!! if ur boyfriend/ husband is ok with it then don't care about the others..and if he wasn't ok with it do it anyway bacause u wanna do it..theres nothing wrong with pole dance so theres no reason for u to feel like u want their approval because u don't!! ! i believe these people are jealous..especially men who judge pole dancers..do u think they don't find it sexy for their woman to knows how to pole for herself and for them too ;) every man would love it!! keep on poling and don't listen to anyone :)xoxo
I agree with the above posters. It's your life, It's your body. It's none of his business. There is a strong likelyhood that he's envious that his brother's wife is going to have a dancers body...*kudos to you* CM
I don't really care becasue it's him. He is unpredictable. He goes through emotional cycles and I am 100% he is at least bi polar, and I'm sure he has rage issues. He picks random targets to start problams with. I guess we are now his targets. The whole reason this started is because I posted some rather benign pole pics on facebook. In 7 of the pics, I was in a sports bra and shoets (no shoes) and doing spins. I made sure not to post any pics with my tush or chonies hanging out. The other 3, I have a tank top, shorts, and shoes on, and I am doing a CAR, and some forearm stands. Nothing sexy about the pics; nothing offensive either. We were having a conversation yesterday with his sister about how, if I were doing the SAME MOVES on the aerial silks, spanish web, or lyra, that would somehow change the situation. It does appear that he doesn't care about my bellydance photos. I blocked him from the pole album I have, but my fiancee and I were talking about how funny it would be to put my fiancee on the pole, in the same positions that I was in, and post THEM on facebook. I'd like to see the reaction then. My fiancee also says we should do a duet video as well and see what rection we could get. Obviously we won't do that, cuz the last thing we want to is to endure this guys wrath, but it makes us laugh to think about it. I love that quote: "Opinions are like assholes--we all one, but no one else needs to hear it!" I think I need to use that one! I don't really care that he finds it un-appealing, but I DO care that he is talking shit with the whole family. THAT is unecessary. Granted, I know they all realize I am starting a business, so networking and posting stuff is all a part of that. They seem to accept it for the most part, for which I am glad.
