trick to cut put up/down time in half

Ok so i wonder why i hadnt thought of this a long time ago, and you all probably already know, but the other night when i was putting my pole up I figured out that if i just hold the locking nut thing while im screwing the big screw up or down i dont have to sit there and make it go all the way up and then all the way down that takes foreeevvverrr. so its like do 2 things in one! does this make sense?
