Tri-Pole Challenge- August 14, N. Hollywood, CA

Hello All! Just wanted to give a heads up about a competition in N. Hollywood on August 14. It will be the first event for East Meets West Pole Events (co-founded by Michula Nunez and Samantha Jones). The event will include 3 divisions: MRS. SPINSTER-This age-specific category is for women 35 years old and up! BI-POLER- Double Pole- teams can consist of 2 male, 2 female, or male/female combination (yeah men!) POLE-AM- age specific category for women 18 -34 and must be an amateur to competition. Competition guidelines and details on how to enter will be posted by April 1st. Deadline for entries will be June 1st and competitors will be notified no later than June 14th of acceptance. Get excited ladies and gentlemen, we are ready for some fun! Thank you for posting this! I'm 36 in Hollywood and want to submit an entry! Who cares if I don't make it, I can still go watch. I'm curious to see other 35+ dancers! Fun!

It has guidelines for each competition and how to submit entries for the competition and for the Rock the Pole event that Friday night. There will be a cash prize of $500 for 1st place for Mrs. Spinster and the Pole-Am. $1000 to be split for the Bi-Poler. Along with fun gift bags for all competitors! Ticket sales will be announced soon!

Congrats, Cricket!!!! Good luck!!! Dude, I am SO happy I decided not to enter Spinster. That's gonna be some killer competition! Cat Gennaro posted she got in as well, not sure if it's Am or Spinster.

Thanks Ottersocks! Whee! And can I just say that none of these ladies are Spinsters by any means! I'm only a few months away from the 'Spinster' category (35+) so it pains me to think I'll be considered a senior in the pole dancing world soon. ha! 😕

Cricket, you are far from a senior category! In fact, we toyed with making the age cut-off later, we just didn't know what kind of interest there would be for competitors. We are learning!

Haha - thanks Desha 🙂 I can see why having the cut-off at 35 would make sense though, considering most age group ranges for statistics purposes are 18-34, 35-44, 45-54 etc.

Rodney is so fun- and a great instructor. We had the pleasure of taking two workshops with him in Vegas this summer and it was well worth it! He's awesome!

Being new to competition, this sounds like it would be a lot of fun. But since there are those who are sensitive about age, that spinster title may very well put a damper on those who wish to compete. Not everyone feels the need to be open about allowing the public know which age group they fall into even if they happen to look younger than what they really are.

@2010raven- I'm sorry if the title offends! Michula and I are both of spinster category age and chose it as a humorous title, as I really don't define anyone @ the age of 35 to be a spinster! We will definitely keep your opinion in mind if we choose to have age divisions in the future. Thanks for enlightening us!
