Traveling with your pole....

Hey guys...just curious if any of you have traveled with your pole on a plane? I'll be flying for a month or so and wanted to bring my pole with me. I'm guessing like a checked bag/item. I have an x-pole...which as you know have the nylon carrying case. I know platinum stages comes in the hard case with wheels. Silly question on my part... for anyone having both x-pole and platinum stages, does the x-pole tubes and etc fit in the Platinum Stage case. Or should I just ship it....I'd freak out if they lost or damaged it on the way 😲 ....at least on board a flight, I feel a bit better knowing it will be there when I get off. 😉 Thanks!

I think there was just recently a discussion on this. I believe that Veena traveled out to DC with her x-pole in December.

My PS pole in the metal carrying case is REALLY heavy like really heavy I would thinbk it would cost a lot of money in extra baggage fees...I can barely get it down my stairs lol the good thing is it has wheels and the case is strong but I wouldn't want to be dealing with that case in the airport...and it would have to be checked in...I would just ship my PS

Oh good, I'll look for the post chemgoddess1. 🙂 @ Verucablue thanks for the info...I had no idea the case was so heavy... 😲 I guess maybe that's why it has the wheels then; for easy travel 😂

I don't know if the older model of platnium stages carrying case was metal but the new super pole I recently ordered is just a thin plywood case painted well to look like metal. 😮 The case delivered to me here in Canada had a huge crack in front of the case. upon close inspection, I realize it is not at all metal but plywood made to look like metal 😠 . They sent me a new case after complaining. It is still heavy with the pole in it. About 100 lbs. I'm going away too for 2 weeks and want to take it with me but for sure the case will crack with the way those airline handle it and throw other luggages on top of it. Also, why is golf clubs and cases free to ship in airplanes but not pole ❓ They weigh about the same.

@ Joni1: Exactly Joni1!!! I noticed that too....I guess golf clubs are more imprtant...crazy! How do you plan to pack and travel with your pole? Any ideas?

There's an idea! If you have the cardboard tubes, why not put it in a golf bag? I bet it would fit.

Golf clubs aren't free to ship...most airlines have switched to people having to pay for any checked luggage and then if it is over a certain size/weight there is an extra fee but most carry ons are still free...again this is the case for most major airlines not all of them - I would check with your airline.
