Does anyone have any suggestions on how to protect the top of the feet from getting bruised? I know if you wear shoes it will help but what if your barefoot? Just wondering. Thanks.

This used to happen to me at first, & i actually posted a similar question back then! Basically, your feet will become resistant to bruising & pain with time. 😉 If you choose to protect them or wear shoes all the time, then you'll probably never build up the resistance. i've even ripped off skin from my feet in the past & just put band-aids on to protect till they healed. Maybe someone else knows of something for protecting while they're still sore.. good luck!! 😛

If you wanna go bare foot you'll just have to wait until your body gets use to the new pressures put on it. As you progress and become comfortable with moves you wont have the bruising anymore. If you want to try a sock you could but then you wont have the ability to grip. If you do wanna give your feet a break try buying some sexy heels that have the plastic, shiny, appearance or boots. These will cut down on bruising and help you stick too, just be sure they're made out of that shiny plastic like stuff (I forget the name) 🙄and not matt leather, leather wont stick to the pole as well. 😀
The top of the foot bruise was my very first pole bruise! LOL i got it from doing a gazillion firemans in my first class. It will get better and eventually you'll stop bruising once you get used to it. I'd take a few days off of moves that require the top of the foot to let it heal up or wear some shoes (like already stated) until it feels better 😀

you're bruising now but as you learn how much force and tension you need to apply to your foot (in the climb, for example) and you get more confident with the move, you'll find that you will no longer bruise. it's not that you need to "get used" to it!it's the same as learning any new spin-- first few times you'll bang yourself up but as you learn to maneuver and where to apply pressure etc, you will find that you stop bruising.... until you try the next new move!
I will add that lace up boots will leave a whole other type of bruise on your feet and shins. I get little dots that match where all of the metal eyelets are.
