Top Adaptor stuck! Please help

Hey ladies, my x-pole was making a creaky sound so I dissembled it, and the sound seems to be coming from the top adaptor part. I can't seem to pull it out and I'm afraid of applying too much force in case I damage anything. I can turn it a bit, and it makes an awful creaking/screech sound when I do. Also some suspicious black powder came out?! 😳 Do I need to lubricate it with oil or something?? Thanks so much

I usually have to wiggle mine back and forth real hard. My older xpoles all have. Little rubber around it inside. I can't remember what my new one is like.

Thanks for your response!! I got this one in 2018, an Xpole spinning/static one. No rubber piece. I've tried everything from pulling, wiggling, and pushing it out from the other side with a broom!! It still squeaks/creaks loudly when turning the pole it so I don't want to just reassemble the pole with it like this. :/ I'm thinking of just ordering an entirely new extension piece and adaptor!! Does anyone else have a suggestion??

Hmmm. I've used a flathead screw driver to pry the top off once.
