Top Adapter Won't Fit!

Does anyone else have this problem? My top adapter will not fit in my 500mm extension! X-Pole already replaced the first one because it was damaged in shipping, and now this one will not allow the top adapter to fit inside! Though I did figure out that the walls of the pole in the extension are actually thicker than in my B Pole piece... Any suggestions? For today I think I will just stick my extension in between my A and B pieces and put the top adapter in the top of the B piece.

Doh! Annieloo, I'm having a similar problem! I just opened your box that you shipped me with your old pole. Apparently you used the 250mm extension because the 125 wasn't opened, but I needed the 125. Guess what? The top adapter doesn't fit in the 125!! My fiance actually tried to force it and now it's permanently stuck and only a little bit in. Sounds like we both need to contact Xpole 🙁

Thanks to his determination, I can now use my pole. He hammered together the two pieces that were stuck. However they are sure NEVER going to come apart again! I'll have to get replacements from Xpole from my defective pieces if I move anywhere with a higher ceiling. 😀

😲 Omg really??? I'm sorry that happened! I'll admit I'm kind of embarassed and feel bad that I didn't know... I never used the 125mm extension, just the 500mm because my ceilings are 9' 1". I'm starting to wonder how common of an issue this is now... I did end up emailing X-Pole tech support about my adapter not fitting in the extension, and they said they would send replacements and try fitting them together prior to sending them so hopefully that will take care of this issue. I wonder if they'd be able to offer some advice to you regarding this issue as well; maybe they'll notice it's a recurring issue and look into it?

I admire the design of the X-Perts, but it bothers me that Xpole seems to be shipping so many poles with defects (judging by the stories I read on this site). After all, we're paying $300-400 for this equipment, and then we're trusting it to stay secure and not drop us on our heads, crack our ceilings or smash through our walls and furniture! Although I don't think there's a safety issue from using these particular parts, I have to admit, these types of stories really shake my confidence.

Also, don't feel bad! It's not your fault; you never opened the 125mm extension to try it, so how could you have known? You know what this means though? It means you consecutively purchased two defective Xpoles. You should tell them that...

I was literally JUST thinking that; both of the X-Poles I've purchased now have been defective! That's definitely saying something. X-Pole has fantastic customer service, but if they're constantly having to send out parts to replace inadequate ones then they're losing money and customer confidence. I will definitely mention this to the customer service rep I've been emailing.

After about 9 months of use, my x pole was bowing badly enough that I could barely get the hex key into the hole of my 125mm extension to tighten the joint. I had to JAM the key in there. The holes no longer aligned propery and the 125mm extension was warping.

That's another thing I worry about. If my pole starts bowing someday I feel like X-Pole will just say it's from improper use... sensual, did you contact X-Pole about it? If so, what did they say? And can you still use the warped pole?

if your xpole is bowing, then you've more than likely over tightened it!! I have many xpoles and have not had any horrible bowing or warping on any of them. There was some slight warping on my TG when I had the pole extended to over 14ft ....and at that height, it's to be expected. The pole was and is still very much useable. It's up in my pole room now along with my 40 😉

Veena - I am poisitive I didn't overtightened my pole. I was really careful about that. There were times I undertightened it and it slipped on me for fear of making it too tight. Annie - They replaced some pieces up to a certain point, but kept insiting it was me overtightening it. As I said above, I am positive I didn't. It is still usable, but if it were to bow any more it wouldn't be as the holes for the extension wouldn't alighn with the joint. Mine is the 50mm, and the walls on it are thinner than other diameters. I think the bowing was from me using it mosty for spins on static mode. I wouldn't stress about it happening. Just check your pole periodically all up and down it. I could see it was bowing my putting it in spin mode and spinning it with my hand. It had a definite wobble to it. Just contact x pole at the first sign of any problem. It is possible that my pole was a lemon. I am now of the opinion that if a pole can last a few years, it will have served its purpose. Yes, they are expensive to have to buy over and over again, but we put them through so much abuse, that they are bound to fail at some point. If it fails within the first year of purchase, though, then it needs replacing by the company.

Only reason I am a little concerned about it is because I could've sworn when I put it up it was wobbling as it if it were slightly bowed, and when I put it on spin mode it was not spinning as smoothly as it should have been. However, I know it wasn't tightened because it slipped while I was on it (so glad it didn't fall down, but it still startled me!!) Hopefully I'll get my pole up again tomorrow afternoon and I can double-check this. I hope it's not actually bowed (though I don't think my eyes were lying to me...) because I feel really silly for contacting X-Pole about this pole so many times. 😕

If its a slight bow there's nothing to worry about. If it's brand new and really bowed then you need to contact whatever company you bought the pole from. Like everything we buy, there are bound to be duds in the bunch.

That's a good point, Veena. And perhaps it's too much to expect a pole to be perfectly straight. Should I be concerned that it doesn't spin smoothly though, even when it's not overtightened?

Depends on what you feel smooth is....If you mean it catches and stop then starts again, or makes clunking noise, then you could call xpole so they can trouble shoot with you. If you had over tightened it before it may not spin nicely again. If the pole doesn't spin as long as you think it should, it could just be a matter of technique.

Maybe your ceiling isn`t level? You can test this by using a yogamat or something similar to put between ceiling and topdome. If your ceiling is not level, this might even out the differrence and the pole should spin smoothly.

My comment is for annieloo :-) And let me add this as well: when your ceiling is not level, you can overtighten one side and the other side can still slip ...

Brand new like fresh out the box new to pole dance ... What is the top adaptor part? Is that the piece that is a lil bigger then the rest of the pole and you slide it all the way up to the top dome and it clickks on those little push button thingies? Cuz if so mine isn't staying either like it will stay but if I were to put any pressure on it it would slip so theresnoway I could possibly climb to the top of the pole and hang from it, I would fall...does anyone have suggestions on how I could fix this without having to contact xpole directly? Thanks

CrystalRockstar, I'm not sure what push button you're referring to (if you could post a picture that'd be great) but the top adapter is shaped like a skinny rod on one end (which goes into the dome) and about as thick as the pole on the other end (which goes into the top pole piece / extension). It shouldn't be slipping out as it fits right into these two pieces and there's really no way for it to come out with pressure.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the top adaptor from 125mm extension? I want to change the extension to 250mm but I can't remove the top adaptor from 125mm, it's sooooooo hard!
