to skid pad or not

So I am setting up my pole and with about 1'' of extension, the pole fits perfectly to my flat ceiling. But even with shortening the extension as short as it can go, the pole is too long to be able to slide onto the skid pad. I have tile floors and I am afraid of my pole slipping if I apply too much pressure on the bottom. Any tips or suggestions? Can't afford to send it back and shorten the pole.

To be perfectly honest, I find that the little rubber feet on the bottom of my Lil Mynx are perfectly fine for gripping various types of flooring. I've used my pole on linoleum, and fake hardwood floors. And a lot of carpet ;) I don't own a skid pad, so I just don't use it! My only worry for you would be, if you put a lot of pressure with the pole on your tiles... can those thing crack?

Well one of the rubber feet tore away from a screw when I was trying to put it into place, so I unscrewed the rubber feet and placed the base onto the skid pad directly. I've tested it out and so far it seems to be holding pretty well with the pressure. Has any one else done this?

You can find those feet at any Lowes or Home Depot. Mine did not have the skid pad and I used the rubber feet also.

Chem, What's your ceiling heights and inner pole extension? Because the recommended is an inch to an inch and a quarter above your ceiling height.. When i did this for my pole the bottom moved after a back leg hook.... I've ordered the skid pad but i'm noticing everyone on here is saying you don't really need it... I have a 10f 3 in ceiling height and I'm 10f 4 1/2 now on my extension. and it moved.

I had about 8 foot ceilings and it was the original powder coated 50 mm pole.

No skid pad on a hardwood floor, just using the rubber feet. I have only used it a few times but haven't seen any movement.
