Tips for preventing bruising?
CEK started this discussion ·
Hi y'all! LOVING this community and pole in general! I'm a brand brand new beginner and am bruising like crazy. I've been taking classes in person with this to supplement at home and while I haven't had too much time to dive in here, I've been leaving every pole class with MANY pole kisses (Which my friends have started lovingly calling pole hickeys).
While I know some bruising normal and will generally tend to resolve with some time and exposure, it's like... a lot. Pole kisses are giving more pole buldgening. Any advice for newbies? Tips and tricks for reducing bruising when you're already prone to bruising in general? I've been doing some arnica gel and know a rest day may be necessary for a few days this week but wondering if anyone has any other tried and true tricks whether that be on the pole, conditioning, desensitization drills, or recovery?
New to this platform so will try dropping photos below but may not be able to attach them! (Pinky promise I get my levels checked regularly and also get iron infusions when I'm low! Bruising is fairly normal for me but wondering if there's anything I can do to lighten impact as I get used to building strength and some of the foundational pieces of pole!)
Also curious to see where this level of bruising is on the new-to-pole scale. Is this normal? Worse? Could be worse? I know every single body is different but mostly trying to get a feel for a baseline!
