These boots are made for dancin'?

I'd like to get boots (knee-high) to dance in because the lower half of my legs & ankles get so banged up w/ bruises & rug burns (my pole at home is on carpet), and my legs look terrible for work (bikini club). I've heard mixed reviews on dancing in boots. I've heard they make it harder to climb because of the eyelets, lace holes. I've heard they make it easier to stick to the pole as well. I was wondering if anyone has a pair they love, or that are great for pole dancing? I'm looking at the basic pleaser boots, but I've heard good things about go-go boots as well... I just hate spending money on something I end up not using! If anyone has any great boot suggestions, or warnings, I'd appreciate the feedback...thanks!! 😕

when I first started dancing I knew a girl who used a pair of white Pleaser boots everyday. Honestly I would not suggest going the boot route, because she got to the point where she could not do pole tricks with out them. Confidence and Fear is a HUGE factor to your learning (in my opinion) If you want to see what the boots can do for you, why don't you buy them for at home training, and leave them when you go to work?

Boots without lacing or eyelets up the front do provide a tremendous amount of stick to the pole. Like Steph says, it's easy to get reliant on them for difficult tricks. They can also be too sticky, and cause problems when you're trying to slide and can't. Having said that, they can be tremendously helpful if you're having a really tired day, or like the judicious use of grip aids, when you're trying to learn something hard and want a little extra confidence. I have an injured left biceps now and so am using them so I can climb with one hand.

I have some zip up boots that work great. The shiny vinyl material is what you want, those will stick the best. Just be sure to practice with out the boots too so you don't depend on them, they are great though if your working with a pole that is unfamiliar to you because you know you'll be able to stick.
