the adjuster wont budge

So I had my new xpole up for about 2 weeks then decided to take it down. After a lot of fighting we got the thing down but now i cant screw anything onto the other end of the adjuster. I turn it a few times around and it gets going but then it just stops. Im so mad! What am I supposed to do?
