supportive sports bra

I know that pole isnt exactly high impact sport, but I really don't like my girls bouncing around when I do any kind of training. I haven't come across even slightly support sports bra, all the medium impact ones seems to give me as much support as my regular bra. And I am not even bigger chested. My size is 32c or 32d (or 30d/dd with looser band) depending on the time of the month ;) and the actual cup size. I am recently in love with Mika yoga Lolita top but I wonder if it gives any support at all? I mean for pole, but I want to feel actual difference between 'with the top on' and 'without the top'.. Are there any particular sports bra you would recommend? Thank you:)

Hi panacotta, We are nearly the same size (I am a 32DD/E, depending on brand and time of the month as well). So I have a lot of experience with sports bras. I have a few favorites. The Moving Comfort Fiona bra is really comfortable and extremely supportive. It comes in lots of colors and has a reflective logo if you want to wear it while running outside. It's what I wear for high impact activities. If you check out my January challenge video, I'm wearing a black Fiona. I also have the Natori Yogi convertible X back bra. I certainly wouldn't wear it while running, but for pole and yoga I love it. The ties are very adjustable and it is comfortable and non-constricting in all positions (even inverted.) I regularly get compliments on my Lynn whenever I wear it to yoga. If you look at my other video (10/4 freestyle) that is my Lynn top. One bra I do not recommend is the Lululemon Ta-Ta-Tamer. It was fine when I first bought it, but it wore out really quickly. The straps like to disconnect themselves from the back whenever I do floorwork. I ended up having to wrap them with electrical tape.

I use a sports bra and have to use a normal bra underneath but if I want it to look good then I have to use a butterfly thingy to pull the straps together on my back so they don't show. Hope that helps! I find this gives really good support, I'm a 32G and suffer really bad, if anyone knows of any sports bras that don't show any cleavage I'd be happy to hear about them. I hate watching my pole videos back when my cleavage is showing, it looks disgusting!!!!

portableninja, you are getting so close to the splits, congrats! I am miles away and I truly doubt I will ever do a split in my life ;) Thanks for the bra recommendations, I think I'll have to try moving comfort. Plus the back hooking makes the bra much easier to put on! As they come in 30 band! which according to their site I won't need ;) Do you wear your regular size? According to they calculator I should order 32D so they run pretty tight I guess (I've got 27in around my rib cage) And what size do you wear in Mika Lynn? It looks awesome and I think I want one for myself but I am clueless about the size jeansgina, you might also give Shock Absorber a try, I've heard they are really good! Though I do not recommend the regular clothing (S,M,L etc) sized ones, they did not work for me as the size was either too loose in the band or too tight in the cup. But they might work for someone else. I haven't got a chance to try the bra sized ones, as they did not have my size at store. besides I was hoping to buy something cuter but, well, in the end I will go for the support rather than looks (and buy tons of cute shorts to fulfil my girly desires ;) )

Aw, thanks! I may have pretty good splits on the floor, but you should see me try to do leg lifts! I have a long way to go. We all do. :) I was first measured at Victoria's Secret as a 34DD. So that's the size I used to wear in the Fiona bra. It wasn't until I went to a lingerie boutique a few years ago that I was correctly measured as a 32DD/E (a size that VS didn't carry at the time, and claimed didn't exist. I'm pretty anti-VS for that reason.) So I bought another Fiona bra in 32DD. Honestly... I can still wear both. I wear the 32 on the last hook and the 34 on the tightest. It's really adjustable, especially in the straps. For the Mika, I first ordered a small, and it was just a little too small for me to feel secure. I sized up to a medium and it was perfect. Other reviewers have said the opposite - they ordered the size they thought they needed, and exchanged for a smaller one. I think it's personal preference. They have free shipping on exchanges, so it's easy enough to swap sizes if you need it.

I love the look of Mika yoga wear another pole and yoga brand clothes, but I need support up top and those tops aren't by cup sizes but just small medium large. I wear figleaves.com own brand for pole and yoga and for higher impact stuff Shock Absorber. I am a 32F/FF depending on the brand Shock Absorber runs a bit small. If I ever compete I'll have to make my own outfits somehow. Lol

Ninja ... I have a few choice words for Victoria's Secret for that very reason. I got measured at JCPenney as a teen and they put me at a 36DD verging on DDD. Since then I'ved moved up a band size and can generally wear a DD, only certain styles do I need a DDD. But this is a good reminder, I should go to a proper lingerie store and get measured again. I'm pursuing breast reduction surgery and any measurements I can get to send to the insurance company will be helpful for me to get coverage. I ordered the largest size of Mika's "Curvaceous Tula Top" last month. It technically "fit" but it did not offer anything in the way of support (how could it, with those teeny-tiny straps?), and I was uncomfortable with the amount of skin it left exposed, though I probably should have been able to guess that from the photo of the model on the site. I've pretty much resorted to layering bras. I'm going to keep the Tula top and wear it over some of my plain black sports bras. Trouble is, those things are old and stretched out so I need to replace them anyway. The sad conclusion I've reached is that as a DD+ lady I can't get away with just a "fashion" top, I need something with structure and support. And you just don't see that from pole clothing lines, you pretty much have to look at specialty sports bras and hope they either come in a cute pattern (unlikely - the clothing industry does not like the idea of cute clothes on busty ladies) or otherwise are easily layerable. And the sports bras aren't always flattering, I've found that a lot of them mash the boobs into weird shapes and create no separation or pleasant lines. I've found that for me, any bra with a round "scoop" neckline makes it look like my boobs are hanging from my neck in a grocery bag.

I'm a huge fan of the Panache Sorts bra that portableninja posted. I think I may have comment on it before. I haven't tried it for running, but it has been very supportive in Zumba and pole. I like knowing that I can invert without any risk of "the girls" falling out. And it's available it a few colours instead of just black and white. Another one that has worked for me is the Elomi bra. I've heard that compression bras like the Enell are great for large-chested ladies, but it felt suffocating on me and would probably be best for jogging/running. I've contacted Mika Yoga about the Lynn top, but the said they've only heard feedback on the top working for girls as large as an E-cup.
