I have the opposite issue, I can get into superman no problem but I fear the burn so badly from the superman spin that I won't even try it! lol, mind over matter...

I'm trying to get both of these right now....any tips??? I'm more "afraid" of the spin. I've been able to get into the superman from an invert and hip hold...just not very often 🙁

i was afraid of this spin at first too. the best advice i got for this was from veena, who told me to keep my arm pretty low, at about waist level. i started off in small movements, like doing the spin very slowly, barely spinning at all. that got me feeling abit more confident, and then i just went for it all out- if you can already do a normal superman pose securely, than just think that the worst that can happen is to slide/fall from waist-level height.. really not that bad! and if it burns your thighs you can always just release them and drop feet down while still holding on with your hand.. 🙂

Lol I have the same issue as Fleur. I can do superman from an invert but am afraid of Superman spin!! I'll just have to suck it up. I think after reading azriel's post that I might have my hand up too high. Hmm

The superman spin is kinda one of those "trust yourself" moves. I recommended having the superman down really well before trying the spin. There will be a drop as you let yourself fall down into the move, so a good strong grip is a must! Keeping the inside arm waist level and making sure the pole contacts the legs up high on the inner thighs. Getting over the fear that your gonna smack your face if you fall is the hardest part. 😂 So my advise for getting into the superman...I like to do it by kind of a flip of the hips. So... say your in a gemini position...then you will place the arm closest to the ground so your inside arm below your body on the pole...press yourself up... and the other arm goes above your hooked leg...press with the arms so your holding most of the weight on just your arms then flip your hips so they are facing down. Using your arms to press and hold your self away from the pole slightly with make the flip less painful. I'm not sure if that was helpful to anyone but....I always feel I can't describe moves in writing very well 🤓
I got the superman spin on the first try which is weird because I'm normally pretty hesitant when trying new moves but I just dove right into it...although I barely ever do it because if youve seen my vids I dont have a ton of space in my pole room. However I cant do the superman to save my life...Ive never seriously worked on it though, I'm really tiny and have short arms and a short torso so when I start to reach back behind me the pole is all up in my no no spot and it hurts!!!!!!!! It hurts so much just trying to reach behind myself I havent even been able to get into the full position. Anyone have any torso lengthening exercises? 😂
i actually got superman from invert first time yesterday when kerrie was here but only able to hold for like 2 seconds and than almost face planted! was still wicked excited to have got it even for a second the spin i find much easier trust as kerrie and i were talking about yesterday is a big part of getting a move its why i havent got the handspring yet i wont let my head drop which makes it impossible to get into couple times trying to do the spin though i didnt grip high enough up on thighs and fell knees first on the metal ring at the bottom very painful now i wrap a sheet around the bottom of pole so if end up on knees wont break a kneecap 💡
