These are all of the Challenge Suggestions that we all had posted in the other forum, I just copied and pasted all of them here to make things easier Challenge Ideas Do a routine to 70's music Do a routine to a slow sensual song Do a routine with no spins Do a routine with only spins (no inverts) Do a routine with a prop (hat, cane, scarf ect) Dance to a remix of a song Touch the floor as little as possible Dance in heels (this will sure be a challenge for me ) Routine to reggae or techno Routine to a Madonna song Routine on spinny pole routine with multiple styles of 'pirhouettes' in it dance to an oldies song dance to a european song that does not have english lyrics do a floor routine do a wall routine do a chair routine use 3 props in one dance try to dance slowly to a fast song all of us dance to the exact same song to see the differences in ideas and routines
This might not work out well for everyone but a challenge to dance to a guilty pleasure song....aka a song that you normally would never listen to because you dont like the band/style of music/etc but you know you could do a great pole routine to it...i have a few of these!
i'm up for almost anything charged camera tonight so can do prop challenge tommrow hope to have it posted by next weekend if not sooner keep the ideas coming as some people will be unable to participate in certain ones (say if yopu can't invert yet and challenge is based on inverts) so will be nice to have some to choose from GREAT IDEAS!!! 🥂

that's a cool idea glitter!!! if that's not a challenge i dunno what is 🙂 poles, that's exactly why we picked the prop one, just for that reason- that it seemed like one that everyone might be able to participate in. maybe next week we could pick 2 challenges and people could pick which one they wanted to work on? just an idea. i dunno. anyways, good luck everyone on their challenge this week!!! ps- COME TO CHAT ON FRIDAY TO PICK A NEW CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another good thing to remind people in the future of is this: just because you don't get a challenge done by the end of that week, it doesn't mean that challenge is closed off! Challenges are fun ways to share and improve ourselves, so if you can't do a challenge one week, feel free to go back to previous weeks and do (or re-do!) some old ones. 😀

So I am really excited about the challenges but I don't have a video camera right now all I have is a built in webcam on my boyfriends laptop and I don't know how to use it very well. I'll have to have him teach me. I also have no dance background so I don't really know how to do routines. All part of the learning process. But can't wait to finally get into the challenges!
I'm with you there I bought a camera months ago just so I could record pole sessions and still have no idea how it works, or how to post am going to try it tonight after my boyfriend goes to work I really don't do routines either I just kind of do tricks with some filler moves and a little floorwork am actually trying to find or design routines as think would be fun to teach friends ( might get them into it a little more ) haven't decided on prop for first challenge will have to look around for ideas am really looking foward to seeing what everyone comes up with will try to be in chat fri ☀️ hope to see you there!
We use the no spin / no invert challenge at the studio to get girls thinking about their in between work. It's actually really tough on those who are very trick focussed. But it's great for those girls who can wiggle and aren't so good at tricks as it's their turn to shine. Chair dancing is also a great challenge. We teach it in our burlesque class (No nudity, but loads of fun). It uses slightly different muscle groups and it's a lot harder as the "thing" you're dancing on isn't as stable. We're also thinking about a challenge in the studio for New Zealand Music Month (May) where the girls have to create a routine to a Kiwi song. It's easier in a bigger country where there's a lot of artists, like the US, so this is a good challenge for students while pushing the kiwi music industry. My choice is RocknRoll Machine "Want you bad". I'm looking forward to the challenges, just need to get the pole back up at home - had to return a borrowed extension and the slot car set got built around the base... (Lame excuse, I know, I have 10 poles at the studio to play on 🙄 .) However, I will place this months studioveena challenge with my students this week and get them to post their efforts! XX Rouge.

believe it or not im still waiting for my prop to come in the mail! i ordered a big beautiful feather from Spencers- you know that trashy store in the mall that we all pretend we never go into? anyways, hopefully it will come soon- my plan is to figure out how to edit on Saturday- saturday night try to do a routine and have it up by sunday- wish me luck!!! i cant wait to see your video veena- and glitterhips- im dying to see YOUR routine what with your glitter puking pony and all haha 🙂 camila- if you see this, i'll email you back tonight- life has been crazy lately and i haven't had a chance to get to my email, im sorry!

lol thats funny sascha i also used a prop ( long neclace) and it was out of video in less than a min ( so much for interacting with prop as long as possible 😉 ) well am really glad you were able to make and post vid!!! can't wait to post what i got as said it will be in form of very random clips but atleast i got some of the challenges in and will finally have a face out here have pics on cd now just have to get to my moms so can use her comp she has said it's fine, but she also works 2 jobs w/1 being 3rd shift so can be hard to catch her at a good time ) well am looking foward to seeing other challenge vids!!! 🥂 ☀️ 🌸

LOL! im giving up on the props challenge, hello my name is sascha and i SUCK at pole props. now lapdance props are a different story though. anyways....only 2 more days till we get to pick a new challenge!! veena post your vid pleaaaaaaase!!!!! i made a vid!! that should count! 👍

You can use the glasses as your prop if you want. Just be sure to write Studio Veena challenge in the title or tags so that everyone can find it. You can also write what the challenge was in the video description.....If you do that then I'll post my vid!!!lol

Since May is New Zealand Music month, can I please put up a small vote for dance to a kiwi song??? Suggestions of bands are Shihad, The Veils, Rock n Roll machine, The Tutts, OMC, Satellite Spies, Fat Freddy's Drop, Kora, ShapeShifter, Rhombus, please no Dave Dobbyn.... any others anyone wants to add to the list???

OK, poster is up for the girls for this months challenge. Problem is that many don't have their own pole, x-poles are $1100 for titanium 😢 and elite are the next best, but still $600... oh well, maybe it'll give them the kick in the proverbial they need to get them doing routines!!
ok well i just posted januarys challenge last fri and am about to post official feb challenge ( since during 1 attempt i stopped half way and changed songs :roxette: , and in other 1 pole was so slippery couldnt do almost anything ( billy idol) so my official 1 is to paula abduals "cold hearted snake". once i have that posted i am going to have to catch up and do april and mays challenges and finally do may and be caught up! whew! ❗ lol. can't wait to see everyones vids! 🥂
