Hello fellow pikers. I'm working extremely hard getting the studio together for my area. Everything has been going smooth till it came to getting insurance. Most won't cover you if members will be allowed to wear high heel shoes or if you are going to rent the studio for private parties. Can any instructors recommend a company? Any help will be so appreciated.

Hello beautiful, I am Moni. Bast wishes for your new studio! I am trying to buy an insurance for teaching pole and I don't know if I will be approuved. It's so difficult to explain to people that pole fitness is not dangerous. They do not understand this discipline yet. The insurance company is Sports & Fitness Insurance Corporation, P.O. Thanks Moni. I will try them in the morning. Love that they are in the South. Most I found were in the Midwest or east coast.

Actually i do have a question what did they qualify you as? Dance, Fitness, or Gymnastics? Thanks in advance!!!

My insurance is under gymnastics and dance. They stated after sending an agent out to see what I do...it is GYMNASTICS, because it is a piece of equipment. It was explained to me that fitness is anything like weight training, cardio (on the floor), that anything in the air off the floor falls under gymnastics and that if I purchased insurance as a fitness studio, a claim would not be covered if someone fell off the pole. So make sure they are very clear about what it is you do.
Litlbit... does your studio just provide pole dancing or do you also provide fitness class and dance classes?

I provide strength training (with dumb bells). Stretching, and pole fitness/dance. I'm covered for gymnastics, fitnessm and dance. They wanted to make sure everything was covered, and it is expensive! However, it covers my studio, myself and staff as well as if we teach in another facility!
