straightening hair?

so anyone have any tips on straightning curly hair? seems more often than not when i try it looks like straw when had donr in salon looked like silk..what am i doing wrong? my hair is fairly fine and only to my shoulder so shouldn"t be easy?? i have tried creams< in styler roating brush<flatirons< sprays... when i went to this new stylist the 1st time she cut my hair and left it curly, but it was so easy to just use a brush to straighten it, 2nd time not so..idk..has anyone tried the new Garnier straightening kits yet? ok well any advice would be great 👸 ☀️ 😎

I'm no help there LOL I have tried everything and nothing works for me....SOOO I just keep it short and use a hair wax, because even short short it will still curl!!!

I do hair. I can help here. There is a service in some salons now called Brazilian Blowout and it will keep your hair bone straight for a MINIMUM of 12 weeks. If you do not wash your hair every day, it will last much longer. It is not damaging. There are products that must go along w the service though. The salon should have them to purchase. U just need to call around in your area and see who offers the service or something similar. Also the best flat iron hands down is a GHD. It is pricey. Like everything else that really works. You can find it at Sephora.com or your local Sephora store. As for the store brand you spoke of, we have tried it and it comes right out after humidity or water hits the hair. In small print it says not permanent and it only works on hair w no damage. There is no such thing as hair w NO damage!!!! LOL!!!! Feel free to message me w any other questions!

Also, we use lots of good products in the salons to get that silky look. We use ceramic styling tools to blow hair out first. You can find them at Ulta. Then we use products like It's A 10 Miracle leave in, serum, and shine spray. We also take small sections of hair at a time. I had the same problem you do until I started dating my bf who does hair and he flat ironed it for me and it looked amazing, his secret is he does tiny tiny sections, maybe like half an inch-inch wide and not very thick. He clips my hair into 4 sections (divided in quarters) and flat irons it by section so he can grab little pieces. It takes some patience/a little more time but I feel like once I take the time to flat iron it really well in little sections, then later in the day or the next day (I wash my hair every other day) when I go to flat iron it again it takes much less time to iron it since it will stay fairly flat from the first ironing. Also if you get a shine spray or thermal heat protecting spray, I feel like those do a lot to help smoothing it out. I have curly hair too, it's quite a project to keep up with it!

Then when its all dry, take a flat iron and a boar bristle brush http://localhosthttp://www.cachebeauty.com/images/comare_brush_C33746.jpg brush your hair with the brush and right above where the brush is iron it, so your brushing and ironing it one after the other at the same time. its the same effect as that Instyler rotating hot iron hair straightener http://localhosthttp://images.bedbathandbeyond.com/assets/product_images/230/12208316690163P.JPG thats just what I do anyway. Oh and my friend whos a hair stylist just had me start buying this new shampoo/conditioner, its what she uses and another friend of mine use and their hair is the softest ive ever seen, and she bleaches her hair from dark brown to platinum white blonde so thats saying something. this is the brand http://www.matrix.com/ and I use the Matrix BioLage Hydratherapie shampoo and Matrix BioLage Smootherapie conditioner.

I've had the Brazillian blow out. I thought it was awesome. (I'm a black girl, so this is huge) It removed ALL the fluffiness from my hair. I did not have any frizz or fluff after my Brazilian and blow drying my hair was reduced to 1/4 the time. Although my hair did not become flat straight, it did handle easier and when I did flat iron it, I did not need too much product and it flat ironed really super flat and with amazing shine. The treatment I got only lasted 6 weeks. I was told that the more treatments you get the more effective it is so I settled for a shorter lasting product so that I wouldn't have to wait so long to treat the roots that were growing in fluffy. However, I decided not to do it again because it is very expensive. The treatment cost $250, and that is a steep price. good luck!

Diana has it. Teeny weeny pieces, no more than a chopstick. They make jaw clips that go from smaller to larger which I need because my hair is super long. Start with the top of the head and make a quick little bun with it and clip it with the smallest clip. The take a comb or your fingernail and section a row below that crown, flip it up and clip it onto the edge of the smallest clip. Then section around again and clip onto the previous and cotinue until you have a Mohawk of clips on the top of your head. Then you can pull down each row section of hair and keep track of the tiny pieces you have to take. You can also use a loose hair tie or the biggest clip to keep the hair you've straightened out of the way without crimping or flattening it, since you want straight but not totally pancake flat on your head.

i will add that the prep and the tools are keeeey for this. i had my hair straightened professionally (at a runway event, don't ask, i'm definitely not a model!) once and it made me realize that i was doing it all wrong. use a serum like farouk biosilk (http://www.amazon.com/BioSilk-Silk-Therapy-Farouk-fl/dp/B00179DY2Y) to protect your hair and add shine. use a good, high quality straightening iron-- i use a CHI ceramic-- they get hotter and work with fewer passes. tiny sections as PDR said-- you want to hit each individual hair with both sides of the iron... and expect to go over each section twice, at least.
