Sports Bras for the Well-Endowed

Ugh... I've been looking for a sports bra for years. I'm a 38DD and with a very weak upper body and such, I'm not the perkiest.. so I need underwires in my bras, swimsuits and.. I'm assuming sports bras too. I REALLY like the Bad Kitty sports bras... but none of them are underwire. One has a thicker band than normal but is that enough to hold me up? I doubt it.. but I thought I'd ask my fellow Veeners for their advice and own experiences. Any places you've seen cheap ones? Most are abou $50 for my size.. lame :/ Thanks!<33

I have never seen a sports bra with underwire. They are based on compression, not lift. I remember seeing an article I think in one of my Oxygen magazines that rated sprts bras by your endowment...I will try to find that. As far as cheap sports bras, the Walmart in my are carries some larger sizes (you will not see them online) for under $10. I'm a 38E so I feel you. Yep, there are some underwire ones at Walmart that aren't cute, but get the job done and are cheap. Championship makes a good one that's $50 but well worth it (also not cute). There's a brand out there called Z Bra that looks promising--has anyone tried it?

im alaos a well endowed girl. so ive tried a lot of sports bras and they never seem to do the trick. then i bought balis racer back bra and will never by a sports bra again.

Cacique! That is all I can say. They go from 36-48 C-H. Their sports bras max out at a DD or DDD but they are GREAT! I am a 38F so I toally feel your pain! They do have some that have underwired and they put them out in fun colors a couple of times a year! Good Luck! :)

I am a 30 E (UK) so I also have trouble finding good sports bras... My favourites are shock absorber's. They do have some with underwire that are pretty and have some without wires too. They have levels and specialties so you can chose your bra according to the level of impact your activity require. The only down side is that they can be pricey.

Berlei here in Australia is quite popular for the well endowed ladies I know. Not sure if they sell elsewhere, but they are quite good from what I hear (I work in retail so I hear quite often). Triumph is also supposed to have good sports bras. Don't personally know anyone who uses them, but they have a good reputation.

chemmie all my sports bra's have underwires. I like the ones by Mita that come in pretty colors and patterns. However for the OP I don't know that they make them in larger sizes, I'm a B well headed back into a C. The problem I have is if they are tight enough to hold well they are such a pain to get on! And better back off.......I feel like I have to dislocate my shoulder to get them off.

34F here, I am also a runner. It took me many miles of jiggles, but I have found the most amazing sports bra. It's the Fiona by Moving Comfort. It's sold at a bunch of different locations (REI, RoadRunner). They are around $40, but so worth it. Works great without a wire! You want to look for terms like "high impact" and "shock absorber". I'm a 36F, and I wear Lulu Lemon bras (those made for maximum support). I find that sizes vary though (I have both a 38C and a 36DD in two different models), so I wouldn't suggest buying from the internet. It's definitely a try-and-buy purchase.

Panache is a great "big bust" brand and they make sports bras as well as sexy lingerie. To give my own brand, PoleSkivvies, a blatant plug, I've gotten customer feedback on the Gemini Bra up to a size F cup and they loved it. However, it's not the kind of sports bra that prevents any movement - it just keeps the girls happily contained. So, great for pole but not for jogging for a large-breasted woman. It doesn't use underwires, but has a wide elastic band for support and the cut of the straps keeps the bosom in, even upside down. I was a 46e, I am now a 40d. I love Bad Kitty's Pole fit spider back bra. Its keeps the girls in and its so comfy! The only issue I had was the O ring that holds the straps is plastic and it busted on me Tuesday night. I contacted Trisha right away and shes sending me a new one ASAP! I have one from Nike that I bought that is my other go to sports bra. First off its pink and its got a bikini style tie along with the thick straps so it holds me up! I normally wear 2 sports bra when I pole as well. Under Armor is another good one to check out. I dont know if theres an outlet besides MD (MD based company, started out with sponsoring the UMD Terps and its escalated from there), but you can get a decent deal on them. They also carry up to a XXL. They also make 'sport panites' but we all know them as pole shorts!

Oh, wow... thanks much :) No underwire makes me feel droppy and floppy but, hey.. it works LOL I have a big problem with my bras sliding down from under my boobs.. :/ Anything?

oh.. and being a 38DD.. somtimes 36DD.. what size should I be ordering?? Large?.. and then can I just adjust it to fit me? :<

If you're getting sports bra that is sized like a regular bra, you want it to fit snugly around the rib cage - that's where the support comes from. If it's too loose there, it will slide down. If it's not that kind of sizing, you would have to check the individual brand. With the Gemini, it would be either the Large or Goddess size. Regardless, look up online how to determine your bra size - a lot of problems women have with bras come from not wearing the right size.
