So for the life of me I can not figure out why I can cartwheel into a split grip straight edge but can not just invert and go into one??? I can invert and do the sp aysha and jacknife but no straight edge??? Is it just my balance???? Everytime I try it I can only hold it for what I call the splecond (split second lol)

I have the same problem with certain moves. I think going into a move in a certain way gets your center of gravity perfectly balanced, whereas going into it from different angles does not. Try to keep slowly lowering yourself into the moves that you want. Working the moves in reverse (or negative) can also build up the muscles and balance!
It was the same for me at the begining. Only a splecond ! If you can do the cartwheel, you can do what you want. You just have to work on a different way and remember to squeeze your abs! Work on the moves in reverse help me a lot! Good luck!
