Spinny/Static

I've been back at the studio for a couple of lessons and I've been thinking about poles. The studio poles are spinny and as far as I'm aware they don't go static. My pole is a spinny/static pole and I've been having it on static. I was wondering whether it'd be better for me to put it on spinny so I can replicate easier the moves in class- I find my pole a lot harder to do basic moves on such as the front and back hooks (it's thicker by 12mm) and thought maybe the spinny will help me until I gain a little more strength. I've upped my pole classes to two a week so I'm hoping to gain some better strength. What are your opinions?
