Spinning nuts! (Is this normal?)

I just moved and had to relocate my pole for the first time. The last time my friend's boyfriend put it up for me. (Yes, I know girls can do this sort of thing too but I'm kind of a princess sometimes and usually lets guys do anything that requires me to stand on a chair. lol) So, I don't know if I did it right. I followed the instructions and all but the thing I'm wondering about is this; when I put the pole on spin mode the nut at the top moves also. But only when it spins in one direction. When it spins the other way, the nut doesn't move at all. I'm paranoid the pole is going to unspin itself and I'll go flying. 😂 The sad part is, my brain is so frazzled that I don't remember if it did this before or not. Please help. 😨
