Once you get to the popular level of pole super start and USPDF that...there isn't that much dancing in pole "dancing"....it may just be me being a beginner and not being able to do all that cool stuff and being an all out hater! LOL But really though. I guess once you get so awesome on the actual "pole" there's not much need to be on the ground shaking your shimmy 🙂 . It seems like it shouldn't be called pole dance then. Maybe just "poling"? I'm just thinking out loud.....and typing it...as I think it..... 😕

Sissy...I know exactly what you're talking about. I for one like the dancing part and wish that more of the "super fantastic wicked cool" dancers would do more dancing!

It's not that I'm not with you- I think there isn't enough club in pole dancing! BUT, when I look at other forms of dance- they don't really look too much like dancing as I know it- but they still are dancing, qualify as dancing, and require a lot more talent than what I do after a few shots at the club. I haven't seen a boranguitang super athletic no dance pole dance in a while. BUT. If you're saying you wanna see Felix make it clap- I agree! LETS PETITION.

It's not that I'm not with you- I think there isn't enough club in pole dancing! BUT, when I look at other forms of dance- they don't really look too much like dancing as I know it- but they still are dancing, qualify as dancing, and require a lot more talent than what I do after a few shots at the club. Lets start the petition! But I get your point too Amcut. I suppose "dancing" is in the eye of the beholder. By my eye beholds that more "dance" happens with at least one foot on the floor LOL. I'm no dancer by any means. But I know that these girls are so awesome! On and off the pole (and/or around it). I just get sooo much joy out of the simple things LOL liiiike the final 15 seconds of Karols performance at Rock the Pole ! Either way...dancing gets me all hot in the pants, and I wish I saw more of it 😀 ....So my pants could get all hot.....in the pants............. 😳

!!!!! LOL. I was thinking of that when I was like, "but they doooo dance". that, and that bespun quartet where Alethea's ass never left the floor. whaha. that is one of my favorite scenes in pole dance history.

Yea I totally agree with you - Felix is quite good at making her pole acrobatics fit with the music and actually invoke a mood in the viewer, which is one of the most important things in dance. Lots of other champions are just basically awesome gymnasts and I miss the personality that actual dancing can bring. And I don't mean booty hopping I mean - lyrical jazz, street jazz, ballet, disco, broadway - something ANYTHING! I mean even just moving between two poles on the opposite side of the state - we ALWAYS see just a slow, powerfyl strut, or maybe if we're lucky a cartwheel. What about some jazz spins or something? Some pirouettes maybe? A jazz leap? (Yes I know SOME competitions require super high heels, but not all national championships do.) They're flexible, strong and balanced enough to execute all those beautifully, so why not? WOW, you guys mae me think about the whole thing. Interesting. I actually was thinking about the epole dance thing too and how I didn't consider some of it dancing because it looked more like gymnastics...that's what drew me in initially, then I watched a few videos like the bespun ones where they did more strutting and winding and I was like WHOA, that's powerful movement. of course I have seen the felix vids and I had to stop cause I was like um, I can't even fathom some of that stuff...it was alot of movement to take in. I liked watching Venna's combination of artful movement and really wondered if I could even move that way. This is hard to do. I'm sooooo NOT a dancer but I wish secretly that I could pull it off. I also hope one day when I can actually do some advanced moves that I can combine them in a pretty dancy way. anyways, that's my peanut gallery comments..ha ha. have a great day!

I agree with you Sissy. 🥂 I wish more of the advanced pole dancers would dance a bit more. I am NOT a dancer and will never claim to be, but I really do try to only stay on the pole in a pole routine. A lot of advanced dancers don't really do spins either, if they do (I am guilty of this) they only do reveres grabs. This is why I don't want pole dance in the Olympics, not because its not athletic (it IS!) BUT I would hate for pole dance, to just become pole moves. The wonderfully athletic polers are great and have some crazy stills, but its not the same, for me, when you don't have the emotion behind the moves. The self expression of pole dance is my FAVORITE part 😀

Which could be alright I guess.... 😕 Sometimes it just seems like there should be different terms for artistic or expressive pole dance and pole fitness or pole sport. Did that make sense? LOL

LOL It makes total sense!! Pole dance should have dance in it! I really feel there are 2 main styles of pole. I agree, I dont enjoy videos when there are a ton of tricks but no transitions (aka dancing!). It's impressive, sure, but not BEAUTIFUL! And I love watching beautiful routines 🙂
