Something with more grip... Help!

So I have a question to put to the all knowing Veeners! I am in the market for another pole and I am torn between the LiL Mynx Powder coated and the XPole TG. I really like the price of the LiL Mynx and the fact that it is one solid piece (I am still afraid of the new X Joint). I am not worried about the portability of my pole either since I have taken over a room in our house. My dillema is this, I live in a very humid area and I have alot of trouble with climbing and tricks because of slippage. If I am wearing boots I have no issues but without, I may as well have greased the pole. I am keeping my X Pole Chrome for spins and what not, but I just want someting grippier for climbing and the like. Any tips or advice would be most welcome!

You might still slip on the TG still. It's like a middle ground between stainless steel (possibly chrome) and brass I have one and and I would slip on it sometimes when it is cold. When I was warm, my body would stick to it fairly decently (sometimes I would still need a grip aid) but my hands would slide all over from sweat. It gives some pole burn on your wrists. The grip is better than the stainless steel poles for sure, so it will probably be a step up from chrome (I have not danced on chrome so I cannot compare the two.) I can say FOR SURE that it is not nearly as grippy as my PS brass pole. Girls on here have said the powder coated poles are REALLY grippy (I think even grippier than brass, but don't quote me on that), to the point of feeling like your skin is gonna rip off, but it probably depends on your body type. Rixi loves her powder coated pole. Chemgoddess1and (I believe) Lyme Lyte also have/had one. I personally prefer 1 piece poles. You don't have to deal with the set up time and maintenance of the joints (which it is true, they are a total pain.) The lilmynx is super easy to put up once you get the mount up. The only real downside to the LM poles is the base can be a little awkward (it hurts to stub your toe on.) I also heard they can munch up your drywall, but someone fixed that by putting a small piece of wood between the ceiling mount and the drywall (something to consider if you get one.) :)

lil mynx powder coated is really grippy! I'm actually considering getting one to add to my collection of poles lol! I think you can also get it in +/- spin mode. If you already have a chrome, I'd get a powder coated.

Thanks! I appreciate all the input! I am almot completely sold on the LiL Mynx for the level of grip I want (plus it comes in pink!!!). Maybe, since it is pink I can get hubby to buy me one for Valentines day......... hummmm.......... :)

Talk to Randy at lilmynx. I belive the different colors have different grips as well. Some girls said the red is the grippiest??? Anyways, just another thing to consider, although I don't now how much of an added grip the red really gives compared to the other 2 colors.

I seen you live in Birmingham! I live in New Orleans and it is sooooooo humid here too! I have oily skin to mix with it! So I know your frustration. My best poling days are when it is about 75degrees outside and when I just get out of the shower. I seriously cannot even practice leg grips or anything - I slide right down. I have a cheap stainless steel off brand pole that I have been wanting to get rid of a month after i started poking. Money has just been very budgeted and its so hard to put it aside for my pole, unfortunately. But when I go to the studio for class, I grip like no other on the brass pole! ! It is a God's send! Hope you love your new pole- in whichever one you decide. Keep us updated ;)

azblanco- That is so cool! I grew up in NOLA! Lived there for 15 years! Crazy! Best city in the world (minus the humidity). We are down there all the time.

Oh wow that's awesome! Next time you're down we should meet at the studio i go to (Polenamics) for a pole play session, if you like? What part are you from? I live on the Westbank now but that's only a short ride to the city. :)

I grew up in River Ridge but we are working on buying a condo in the Quarter or CBD at the moment. If that works out, we will be down a lot more often!

Try Tite Grip II Lavender. It'll help decrease the slipping. Much stronger than the old formula. www.titegrip.com Or get pole gloves. I also agree with Lil Mynx powder coated poles. They work with anything.

Awesome! Hope everything goes through with the condo! They have a pole studio in river ridge, but I didn't care for it too much! Marrow gras is really soon! Yahhhhh! I'm so excited!
