What do you use? Dishsoap? Shampoo? All purpose cleaner? I was just wondering, also what's the best thing for getting the shipping wax off in the first place?

Hi! What kind of pole material is your pole? Chrome? Stainless Steel or Brass? My xpole had some waxy surface on it and I used Dawn dish detergent then plain acetone nail polish remover. I bought this pole from a friends who didn't realize it was coated for protection during shipping. My Ps poles I just wiped down with acetone or a 50/50 alcohol mix. My powder coated pole also got alcohol and water treatments. I wouldn't use acetone on a painted pole like a powder coated because I am not sure if it would eat the paint but it's fine on chrome and stainless.
I have a chrome x-pole. First time I cleaned it I used oil cutting shampoo. This time I used dishsoap and a microfiber cloth. It was kind of funny. I've had my pole for a couple months and it's been super slippery. I must've not gotten all the shipping wax off. Now it's fine, I guess the moral is always clean your pole twice when you're super excited to put it up.

I'm wondering HOW you clean your pole? Do you just wipe it with the soapy water and a cloth, or do you submerge it in your bathtub and clean it that way? Thanks!
I just cleaned mine with windex. Now I just use 90% alcohol once a time I use it and 70% the rest of the time when it gets dirty or slick.
After you clean the pole joints do u have to spray it. With wd40 or something

This is what I am curious about. When you take it down an apart to clean whT do you clean it with? And does it need oiled??
I clean with hot soapy Dawn dishsoap on a sponge...rinse and repeat. Re-lube the joints with Silicone spray. WD-40 can ruin your joints as it's water based and eventually may in cause surface rust.

I wonder if mine still has wax on it? I've had it for 8 months and I've cleaned it with alcohol and windex, but it's so slippery that I haven't used it very much. I'll have to wash it really well when I get home next week and see if that's the problem! (It's an X-Pole X-Pert in chrome.)
I always clean with mix of 50% white destilled vinegar and 50% of destilled water, it works for x-pert, and make it less slippery. And works for hands hehehe
