Small-chested women and bras

So this is a little awkward for me to talk about, but we're all mature adults here, right? Right. So I absolutely adore all the pole performance costumes that are out there, especially the burlesque bedazzled bra tops. BUT! I'm super concerned! I have practically no boobage, and in my everyday bras there is usually a lot of gapping going on. I know if i were to go upside down or squish my arms together the wrong way, my bra would pucker, gap, pull, and totally expose me! How can I get around this problem? Do you other ladies with itty bitty titties share this inconvenience? I want to be able to wear things that are just as beautiful as the ones more well-endowed women can. Merhhh.

Invest in some double sided sticky carpet tape. The clear type... It works for everything from securing pasties in place(and I have a really heavy pair--the are crystal covered metal) to securing down costumes. Works awesome and relatively inexpensive. Can be found in Home Depot for about 10 bucks and it will last you forever... It is my go to and always in my costume bag.

Forgot to add--- I buy the indoor/outdoor high traffic type. I have only ever heard of 1 person experiencing a small allergic reaction to something in the adhesive....I have never had any trouble with it. As with anything, do a patch test first. I have worn it over my "girls" for 6 hours straight and it never bothered me or had any weird reaction. I have used it to secure down the edges of bras/swimtops and booty shorts that I don't want moving up my butt... Works like a charm

For me, the bras just do not work. The gapping is so bad the tape pulls and then pops up and the gap is back. I would see about adding material or having it altered. That is what I have to do. The costume bras start in sizes 32B usually and I am barely a 32AA. Sometimes don't even fill that out though.

Garment tape and pasties. ALWAYS prepare for slips of your costume top, it does not matter what your size. I also use garment tape on my bottoms between my legs and across my belly. One can never be too sure!

Have you thought about asking someone to make you a performance bra in your size? You could also put a nude triangle top or nude sports bra underneath it, or maybe wear more than one bra. I have the same problem - there is nothing holding my bras up.

If its for a performance/competition, i have all my suits or costumes custom made. I found a really great designer who can make anything, dresses, suits, dance wear, promotional outfits, costumes, you give the man an idea and he can make it! And he has very reasonable prices. He usually has an end of the year invetory blow out and thats when i pick up a lot of things.

Yes, exactly! My boobs shift but the bra keeps its shape, no bueno. I guess if I were ever to compete I would look into a custom top, but otherwise I don't think I have the money for that luxury.

I find that the custom tops are at the same price as a good sports bra. If you drop 40 or 50 bucks on a mika yoga wear or other pole specific top, you can get custom made tops for the same or cheaper. Its just a matter of finding the designer.

Wow, I may be a chesty lady, but a lot of the issues sound very similar! I generally agree with the idea of garment tape and pasties- I also find that halter tops fit me really well, and no matter where the shifting happens, they never seem to get out. Have you been going for molded cups, or soft? I would think that the molded cups would be a bit less effective for a lady of smaller chest size (just guessing, though!). Now I'm gonna go cry about sports bras for $6...

I never pick up the bra tops with molded cups, my boobs would never fit into those costumes and I'm very well aware of these limitations. I usually go for the more forgiving fabric types and styles. I would even consider buying a simple bra and decorating it myself. It might be more reasonable in terms of cost if you can work with the materials.

I always go for the moldedd/push up type (unless its just a plain sports bra)... I guess I'm scared to see what I look like without the extra help 😀 🙁
