Slippy not grippy

I have a 42mm titanium (not gold) top loading x pole - I LOVE my pole.... Alas I have major grip issues and am thinking about having it powder coated.... I have used stainless steel, chrome and 45mm titanium poles in the past had similar slippy not grippy problems... I have not tried the TG yet... I find a combination of tite grip and mighty grip help for my hands but yesterday even my boots were slipping when I was climbing or should I say sliding.... I'd love to hear opinions and advise from fellow polers before I take this drastic step...

I advise you to try out a brass pole a few times, if at all possible. Brass and powder coating are similar. I just find I slip a little on PC since it doesn't work with sweat so much as brass does. I has some slidy problems on my TG and stainless poles back in the day. I figured getting a grippy material would help, so I got a brass pole. Now I have TOO much grip. It's easier to add grip in the form up sticky grip aids, but you cannot remove too much grip. I believe TG and TS should be the same in grip as they are both the same material (just different colors.)

Thanks Sensual for your advise... Last night I heated the room and kept the heater on while I warmed up and that helped. I have also seen the threads advocating white vinegar and candle wax so I think I'll try these before taking such a drastic step - I remember in summer having no issues with grip so I think temperature has a huge impact... You are so right - grip aids can be removed where powder coating is forever...

White vinegar has worked wonders for me, I still have my s steel pole.
