sleepy pole!! help!

Hi everyone, Im french and i recently started poledance. I bought a Xpole but i dont understand my pole is very very sleepy. I cant do anything compare to what i can do during my poledance course where i have much more grip! I dont know what to do anymore! Im desperate! I really dont understand why my pole at home is sleepy because thats nearlythe same Xpole that we have for the course... I think its because in my flat its a little bit cold but i try to put a heater next to the pole, it doesnt seem to change anything!... If somebody can help me or give me some advices would be nice... HI! Try cleaning it really well. Like with soap and water or rubbing alcohol works great! There are other forums that have more non-slip tips. Good Luck!!

Hey Audrey, I was just talking to my pole instructor about the very same thing a few days ago. My own x-pole gets slippy much faster than the poles at my class. I think it's probably because my pole isn't 'broken in' yet, as in it isn't used a fraction of the times the poles at my classes are. I think it gets better the more you use it. My x-pole doesn't feel as slippy as it did at first but this could be down to me gaining a tiny bit more confidence with it. I just keep a towel beside me and wipe it down everytime it gets too slippy! Good luck getting used to your new pole. In a few weeks this won't seem like a big problem anymore 😀 HAVE FUN!! 🦌

Bonjour Audrey J'ai moi aussi un x-pole et c'est vrai qu'au début il sont plus glissant. Quand on le reçoit il y a un genre de vernis pour le protéger. Un bon nettoyage au départ puis ensuite tu peux le nettoyer avec de l'alcool quand il redevient glissant. Bonne chance 👍

Merci pour la réponse en francais lol. Mais je fais comment pour enlever le vernis! Beaucoup de personne parlent de ''break in'', mais je comprends pas trop.... es ce que cela veut dire qu'il faut utiliser un certain nombre fe fois le pole avant qu'il ne soit plus glissant? le probléme cest que je ne peux rien faire avec cest trop trop glissant! donc je ne pratique pas souvent!en plus il fait assez froid en ce moment chez moi je suis en écosse alors!! 😕 ppfff je sais pas quoi faire! jai essayé lalcool mais ca fait pas grand chose! merci Audrey

Hey Audrey I'm proud of myself to be able to understand your post! wooo I must have listened more in school than I thought. 😂 I suggested using the pole more because you mentioned your apartment being cold. I just thought that maybe the pole needed to be used more or warmed up a bit before you can grip properly. If it's so, so, so slippy that you can't use it at all then maybe try the alcohol. I've never used it so I'm not sure what you do exactly but I'm sure someone here knows how. Enjoy the poling ☀️

Je vais continué en anglais pour que les autrse puisse participé mais si tu as besoin de précisions je te répondrai en français. I heard some girls use nails remover to clean it the first time. I didn't do it, I use 70% alcool to clean it when it need to. But the weather have a lot to do with it it's sure. And I also notice that I have to start with easy move and spin so me and my pole can warm up, because it's really hard to do any trick before 10 minutes at least. And after 2 months it's better so I guess it really break in (use et s'améliore 😉 ) Oh and be careful not to put alcool on your hands because if it dry at first it then become very sweaty, had this little problem this week 😕 Bonne chance
