singing and poling??

this may sound crazy, but obviously i'm new to poling 😉 so, i like singing and i have a little card for 'Doris Darling'--i dress up in vintage pillbox hat and gloves and sing Doris Day songs, etc 🙂 i only did it once publicly, for free, and was so nervous my voice was shaking the whole time 🙂 but, i was thinking, since they are both performance art related, and go well with costumes... can you pole and sing at the same time? funny huh 🙂 or maybe i could use my poling skills and go to trapeze a la Moulin Rouge style 😉 aha i WAS thinking my pole stage name could be Lady D or something, for Doris Darling, and the 'ladylike' costumes 😉 ...it does sound fun 😉

That sounds very neat! I def think you could mix the two....unless you are doing some major tricks then it might be kinda hard...try it out and make a vid for us to see! 😀 BTW totally like Lady D!

I think it would be do-able as long as you didn't do any major tricks because you'll be too out of breath to sing. I love to sing too and thought that would be great, but I have a hard time singing along to the music I'm practicing to, and that's not as if I were performing. But when you're a beginner you'll be more out of breath because it's harder for you, so maybe when you can do several moves comfortably you could sing along. It's worth a shot, I'd love to see it done! 😀

Have done it while playing at the studio. Can be done, but you do need super high levels of fitness. Or don't do so many cardio tricks. the trick is to keep the diaphragm open in whatever position you're in. Ensure you can get good breaths down into the diaphragm. (yes, another skill, I trained in opera for a few years) However, this also contradicts the acrobatic breathing technique where it's all into your chest.

Do it do it do it!! I know you're a beginner but when you feel more comfortable you could definately do it. Just keep it slow and simple and work the sensual side! 😀 When there are instrumental breaks in the songs, that when you could do the tricks! 😀 Mrstrone I checked out that video and wow!! She has some voice!! 😀

i haven't said thank you, thank you very much girls 🙂 i was reminded of Madonna who used to? run 8-10 miles a day, and put on those choreographed shows while singing with the head mic (she was an accomplished dancer early on) very helpful everyone 🙂 this pole thing is not only really fun (and difficult) it fits in really well with my inclination for costumes and show 🙂 i think 🙂
