Silly questionabout Crucifix or Backhand stand

Hi So I can do the basic invert..but I can't seem to do the Crucifix or Backhand stand one because I am facing the wrong direction I tried watching the videos again, the basic invert I am in the same direction sliding down hugging the pole, but I am having trouble figuring out how to turn around so that I have my back to the pole and can do the crucifix Can someone give me some guidance? Thanks Caroline 🤔

Hi there, from the basic invert ( Body facing the pole) the arm straight out the side like an upside down Jesus/cross position, is commonly called the crucifix. To get your back to the pole, its a different move commonly called the Fallen Angel. You have to climb up the pole, grip the pole between the upper thigh ,almost sitting like and lower your head back while crossing your feet at the ankle and squeezing your thighs very tight and arms goes to the sides. Your right. Its called the inverted crucifix which is what she can do. But I she wants to do the fallen angel and thinks she gets into it from a basic invert if I'm not mistaken. ❓

I thought the Fallen Angel was pretty much like a Scorpio or Gemini? I Google imaged it and Yahoo imaged it and thats all I can find. Wikipole didnt have anything with that name. 🤔 All these names drive me crazy sometimes 😂 But anyway, to get yourself facing away from the pole from a Basic Invert all you have to do is hook a leg onto the pole when you get up there, instead of latching on with both legs and moving to face the pole. Stay to one side and hook your leg. Then your face will be outwards. Otherwise to face away from the pole you have to get into a Cross Ankle or Cross Knee release... like Georgia said 😉
