Shoes with rhinestones HELP

I have a question about rhinestones....what is the best way to get rhinestones glued into our dancing heels where they don't fall out? I pulled out all the rhinestones in one of my heels because they were glued in that poorly and I want to be able to secure them in. I don't have any craft-sense whatsoever so I don't even know what glue to start with! Thanks in advance for crafting advice 101 from anyone! :-)

E6000 seems to be the glue of choice.

I have got to go check out the crystal section at the craft store one of these days! I love clear shoes and they are affordable. I would love to just bling some out!!!!❤️ I want to do Tiffany Blue crystals and figure out how to get a white bow on top of the toe strap some how.

@luvlee One of the stripper websites I visit has clip on bows so you can customize what your shoes look like that night. I want to say it's Bad Kitty, but it might be discount stripper...I will try to find it when I'm not getting called to surprise stage @_@ also; there are rhinestone bows :3

Well, I am actually talking about repairing shoes I already bought that came with rhinestones. They keep falling out. Here is one of my pairs http://pleaserusa.com/ProductDetail.asp?div=1_PLEASER&dpt=30_MID_P&ctg=&STYLE_CD=CAPTIVA%2D609&PROD_CD=CAP609%2FB%2FC I was able to basically pick out each stone from its setting because it was glued in so poorly. So I have the rhinestones but just need to glue them back in their setting holes. I'm guessing just tweezers and that "6000" glue some of you requested...?

Yep E6000 is the stuff! I used it for decorating my Pole Fit stuff. It stays! I even washed my PF wear and they are all still in place!

E6000 is what you want to use to glue to something non-breathable, like plastic., and it only works with regular flatback rhinestones without any adhesive on them. If you are gluing to fabric, you are much better off using the "hotfix" type crystals which come with a glue on the backs already, and need to be applied with a specific "hotfix" tool. the hotfix crystals are for use specifically on fabric.

I could NOT for the life of me find the non-hotfix rhinestones in stock anywhere. I wanted mine in black and grey, so I kinda needed to see the color first. I'm not sure what kind of store I'm supposed to be shopping in? I checked all of the big chain craft stores (Michaels, Joanne's,Hobby Lobby) And they didn't have any what so ever in black. Only clear and some rainbow colors (nothing exotic like peridot or amythest, just your basic blue, basic red, basic emerald, etc). Suggestions other than ordering online?

@Amy, the shoes are definitely plastic. But the rhinestones aren't "flatback." They have the little pointed back (excuse my lack of craft technical speak...I have NO idea what any of this stuff is called!). Will the 6000 glue work ok with those kinds of backs for rhinestones when setting them into the groove?

Yes! Since they made little divots in teh shoe for the crystals that will work fine, but generally you can't glue a pointy back rhinestone to a flat heel :) Capfeb, sorry I'm in NYC and I can give you 14 stores with rhinestones here off the top of my head (theres a whole area that has tons of stores that sell them all next to each other) but dunno about Az...

CapFeb, my local Hobby Lobby has a TON of rhinestones. One thing I have found though is that they generally have the Swarovski crystals in a locked case in the jewelry section. Look in teh same area where they have the silver necklaces and jewelry. It is usually a long case near the end of one of the jewelry isles. They also have a lot of self stick rhinestones in the scrapbooking section. Surprisingly these have held up rather well on a pair of shoes that I added accent stone to. I think I have worn them 3 or 4 times and have only lost one or two stones. Darn...I thought I had pics here but they must be on the DIY FB page.

@chem When I went to hobby lobby I got a sale associate to show me where the flatbacks were. They were, as you said, in a case. But there was only one row of flatbacks in that case, and they were all white/clear :/ and also 50% more expensive than anywhere else I'd been that day. Joanne's and Michaels little baggies were $7 ish an HL was charging $12 for the same exact bag with less color range.

Wow, really? The ones that are in my picture were normally like $3 a pack but HL always has scrapbooking stuff on sale so they were like $1.50 a pack. Seriously check the scrapbooking section. Always wanted bling heels - but do they scratch, indent the pole? Some girls @ my studio have some heels with (already rhinestoned) them. When they pop off I occasionally get pits of them in my knees from floor work during 'musical poles' exercises. Hate that. But wondered if they're mainly for shows/performances or whenever you feel like it?

For ladies looking to purchase flatback rhinestones, I get mine from ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/beadabetter ; They have the best prices (you get 1000 crystals for $2 or $3 depending on the size), and are a good quality. The only bad thing is shipping takes awhile since their coming from Hong Kong, but the shipping is free. HTH!

Definitely going to order some from that site. I could rhinestone so many shoes +_+ Thank you so much fo the suggestions! I order from HK/China/Korea relatively often for special use items (bb cream, for example) so I'm used to the waiting period. :3 I'm so excited to finally finish mah shoooeees
