Shoe Advice! :-)

Ok, so I already have a pair of Pleaser Shoes, black sandals with a clear platform! And LOVE THEM! But, I see so many dancers with boots and I really want to buy a pair. I live in the UK, and unsure where is best to buy Pleaser shoes/boots. I have been on Amazon, but I don't know if they have the entire range! Also, I have seen these..... http://www.schuh.co.uk/womens-black-new-rock-nail-buckle-lace-knee/1505107040/ And the fact they have been reduced to £60 is practically like fate! But would these be any good for the pole, or would the buckles and laces get in the way? Also, these aren't 6 inches like my Pleaser shoes, which makes me a little sad, but for the price... hhmmm... I just can't decide! So, what to people recommend wearing? Thanks in advance! x x x

One thing is that the buckles WILL leave interesting bruises on your legs after poling. I have had that problem with the hook style eyelets (the kind you get on skates). One other thing to consider is scratching the pole. But those boots are cute as all get out!

very cute boots! if the buckles are the same material as the boots, then it shouldn't be a big deal. i have boots with laces up the front and they do give me problems with climbing, because the pole just sliiiiides on the laces, but a girl who goes to my studio uses "gimp" to tie hers up. i have a hard time describing gimp, so here is a website on it: http://www.gimplace.com/ it's the plastic lace stuff that a lot of kids use for arts and crafts. they break easily but it's really cheap and easily found at any walmart/crafts store. and it's plastic so the pole grips it!

I need shoe advice as well...what's a good heel height for someone who's never poled a day in their life? Now I live in heels on a daily basis so it's not liked i'm started from scratch i often wear 4-5 inch heels. But I want to look sexy without breaking my ankles (or neck for that matter). I was debating between a 6 inch or 7 inch platform pump w/ ankle strap from pleaser...any suggestions? Thank 😛

Yes! An ankle strap is a must! I recommend 6 inch with a 2 inch platform. The platform evens things out. All dancer shoes I have had are Pleaser or Ellie and they are super comfy!!!! Make sure the toe strap is plain in color so it helps with your grip on climbing. Like the all clear ones or black ones. They are great!!!!! 🥂

I have a 6 inch pair, with an ankle strap. They are pleasers and i LLOOVVEE them! Mine have a clear platform, but looking at other people's videos. sometimes i wish I got the black ones! (I always want what i cant have in shoes) I want to get some boots too, and just cannot decide. I have the problem i live in the UK, and I think Pleaser is an american make! 🙁

I'm pretty sure you can order Pleaser's online in UK though. I'm looking to get a pair soon, and delivered to Ireland from a UK website. The prices were all really reasonable too.. Although I can't fnd the site right now, I'm pretty sure it was like an official Pleaser website. Just had a look, it seems like the site may have been taken down as I can't get to it anymore! If you find a website selling them in Uk, let me know. (There was a woman selling them from an irish website who i'm sure would deliver to UK, but I was emailing her, and she seemed a bit odd to say the least, so I'd rather not buy from her, lol!)

yeah, i bought a pair from what i thought was an official pleaser uk site. Bought them, and the status of my order never changed from 'processing' so tried e-mailing and ringing the seller and i got no response! But the money had come out my account. It had been about 3 weeks so was abit worried, luckily i paid thru paypal, so contacted them. And they said if the seller hadnt got back to them in 10 days I would get a refund. So i thought ok... I will buy a pair from Amazon as i knew they were a well known website site, and i thought if the other seller hadn't got back to me after nearly a month, they wouldnt get back to paypal. So on the 10th day, i get an e-mail from paypal saying that the other seller has got in contact and sent the shoes!! eek!! So now I had two pair of pleaser shoes on there way to me! (The same type of shoe too! lol) They both arrived, and I felt bad, cause even though amazon were the better seller, and quicker to arrive I had to return their pair, cos i knew the other seller would have been a nightmare trying to get a refund! So, I am just abit scared where to order from now, cos I dont think amazon do all of the pleaser range! And i dont want to be conned! lol

Oh that sounds like a total nightmare. I'd much rather be able to walk into a shop and buy a pair, even if they were a bit more exepnsive, just to avoid the hassle. Out of interest, which uk site did you buy from, as I can't get on to the one I saw before?

it was http://www.mad4shoes.com, but i also noticed, the seller must have a few sites, because http://www.topbrandzone.co.uk has the exact same address as the contact details. So i really would not recommend using these sites. I was really drawn to the price of the shoes. I think, if i remember rightly, I went with this site because of the price. But... obviously wasn't a great idea! But, I got them in the end, and everything is sorted! Just dying for a pair of boots!! 🙂 I am really bad for internet buying. I always do it, don't think id have anywhere round here where I could buy them from a shop! I wish I lived in London! lol. Although, i wouldn't have any money left then! x

So, which site do you advice tfor buying a good pair of shoes? And the other problem: ordering on-line, how can you be sure that you order the right size? Maybe it's just my problem, but when I buy shoes I always have to try it, because the size that I need can vary from 34 to 37 (depending on producer). How do you resolve this problem?

Dont laugh but I normally order from http://www.discountstripper.com. Across the board all shoe prices are going to be the same. I had great service w/my first pair and ordered another pair for the competition. I also find a coupon code and save a few bucks. Heres my rule on shoes. I will look at them and judge the material. If its the basic clear plastic (a my first stripper shoe if you want to call it), I order a size down since the plastic will warm up and swell. If they are the pvc and look durable (like the ones in my profile pic), I get them in my street shoe size. Always ask customer service, they should be the most knowledgeable about the shoes itself.
