shaving rash

hi girls! im not sure if everyone knows this already and ive just been living under a rock but i have to share it for others! recently i had a pole session with an x stripper (i showed her tricks, she showed me sexy floor moves) and she told me lavender oil gets rid of bikini line shaving rashs/ redness.. of course i raced down to my closest pharmacy and it does really work! after you shave just put the oil straight on.. it does sting a teeny bit but it does work and ive only done it once! i hope this works for any other ladies that shave :)

the best thing to do is to avoid getting razor burn in the first place. Try to only shave downards or in the direction that the hair grows. Use fresh razors (I'm partial to Schick Intuition) and after you finish shaving put on unscented gel deoderant.

Shave with lube (yes I said lube) it really helps keep those razor bumps at bay. Silicone lube is the best but water based works too and is cheaper than silicone. I learned this from a porn star (along with some other amazing grooming tips with non traditional items lol) Slather your vajayjay with lube wait about 1 min (to let it penetrate & moisterize the skin) then start to shave. Make sure it stays pretty wet with the lube(you'll have to do this with water based more so than the silicone because water based tends to dry out) as you shave--don't let it dry out. I'll have to try the lavender oil...didn't know that tip. I'm highly prone to razor bumps no matter what I do but with the lube shave, I get a lot less than I get when I use shaving cremes.

I just discovered the Gilette Fusion (the one that vibrates).. Best razor ever!!! Just shave in a downaward motion and your all good.. No bumps or redness

Haha i love the lube idea! Ill also try all your other ideas.. The more the better :) theres nothing worse then doing a straddle with shaving rash!

Another good thing to use is King of Shaves it's in the mens section at woolworths, you can also get it in chemists (in Oz) but I guess it works like the lube but its a shave gel (don't use the menthol variety, tried that, not a good feeling) but it really does help prevent shaving rash, since I've used it I rarely if ever have a problem regardless which way I shave! x

Oh how I hate getting a rash or razor bumps! Another product that works fabulous is called TENS. It is not only for getting rid of those pesky bumps, but it helps prevent future ones. I bought a bottle a year and a half ago and still have plenty left. My hubbie uses it on his face and loves it as well. Great stuff!

I haven't heard of the lube shave but will need to try it. I don't have a go to product to use 'while' shaving but I do have some stuff that I do that has helped me. After each bath or shower I apply a salicylic acid gel (formulated for face) on bikini area to act as a mild exfoliant (I do not apply it on the days I shave). Before shaving I use an exfoliating scrub (St. Ives almond face scrub) to exfoliate gently for shaving. After shaving and drying I use a quick swipe of deoderant. I also use a razor no more than twice and have a razor just for bikini.

I'm going to give the lavender oil a try. Sometimes I get a rash and sometimes I don't. Right now I have one!! :( I'm going to see what effect the oil has on a rash that's already there. Maybe it will make it go AWAY!!
