I overtightened my x-pole. It is starting to crack the ceiling. The joints are locked up and the nut/bolt at the top will not loosen. A wrench is just shredding the bolt and ruining that piece and it still won't loosen up so I can take it down. Any suggestions?

Getting the pole cold might help. It's supposed to shrink the metal and make it easier to un-screw. Grab a bag of frozen veggies and hold it on the joint that you're trying to un-screw until it's cold. Then try it again.
