I am sure it has another name. I will try to explain it...opposite arm high on pole, other hand under outside leg, opposite leg comes up and thru and you straddle. that is the best way I can explain it. I had so much trouble getting my leg up and through today...I don't understand the mechanics of the move and class ended before I could ask more questions. any help appreciated.

How do you start the move? Like where are you in relation to the pole?

Do you have pic or vid of someone doing the move? 🤔 I honestly can't figure out what you're trying to describe... but we all know I'm not the brightest crayon in the box 😜
I don't remember the name but Jenyne taught us what I think you are talking about in a workshop over the summer. Basically if my right hand was on the pole I would take my left leg straight around the pole as if to do a spinning straddle (or v or whatever you want to call it) but instead of keeping it away from the pole I would let the upper back of my thigh come into contact with the pole and grab the pole under it with my left hand. At this point I lean out (to the left) and thread my right leg between my arms so I end up with my body parallel with my legs in a straddle and my butt to the pole and sort of "sitting" on my left hand with my left hip (for a visual sit on the ground in a straddle and place your hands on either side of your body/hips, now pretend the floor is the pole and that is the body position). If this is what you're talking about (and it sound like it but I could be way off base) what helped me was getting my top arm further down the pole so their is more space to thread my leg through (kinda like in the Reverse grab holding lower in the pole to get a bigger spin). I also immedietly lean out to the side as my left leg swings so I am already in a horizontal body position to get the right leg threw. If you are trying it just standing it is way way harder than when you are spinning so you can practice just standing and if you can do it standing still it should be way easier moving. I'd post a vid but I just injured myself (not sure if it is muscle or if I just twisted a rib slightly..which wouldn't suprise me cause I've done it before) so if you still need help by the time I'm back at it (I figure give it a few days of no pain before I get back on it) I'll make a vid for you. Jenyne calls it the "scottish" 😀 Two things that really helped me with this was 1. not grabbing so high up on the pole with my top hand...more shoulder height and 2. really leaning out to the side when weaving the leg through. Runnergirl365 (Sabrina) can do a phenomenol Scottish...maybe she could make a vid!?!?!?! 😀
I love this one, too. Jenyne's tip that helped me nail it quickly was, as you bring your leg through under your arm past the pole, don't think about leading with your foot. Instead, bend your knee and think about making your shin parallel to the pole, then passing it through under your arm in that vertical parallel position. Definitely easier with as much spin momentum as you can gather, that makes it way better. And try it at first barefoot, as you may stab yourself in the static V leg's thigh with your stiletto as you pass your shin through. 😲

I love this move! Everyone else already gave all the tips i thought of. There's one thing that maybe i do differently than some: When i start out, i hook my ANKLE around the pole instead of my thigh (as if i'm going to do a fireman, except obviously, my hand goes under the foot).. i think that doing this (along with keeping top arm low on pole), gives more of a gap to pass your other leg through more easily. 😀 😀

@angygirl---I know it's been like more than a year since you posted this. Did you ever get this move? I want to try and tackle it. It's like the only 'level 3' move I haven't made progress on.

@masked, Hi there. no I haven't gotten it the "proper" way but I can get into from the wrist sit...go figure lol
Maybe I'll try it that way. Is it just a static postion when you do it from wrist sit? or can you still get some spin from it?
