i have been wanting to try the scorpio handstand forever and cant figur eout how to get into it ( i would imagine easiest from scorpio, but how to get close enough to floor for hands to be flat?) i saw REDKE do it in her youtube video marked :feb. 18 dancing at work or something like that (was def feb 18) any tips would be great! thanks! 😎 💡

If you do, this is how I do it: If you can do an inside leg hang (gemini to me, scorpio according the pic i linked) with NO hands : You just need to position your arms to point below your head at the floor, and then loosen the grip of your inside leg until you slide enough to put your palms on the floor. Then lock your elbows like you would a normal handstand. If you hold on the pole with one hand and one leg for the inside leg hang: Invert up into the scorpio/gemini (inside leg hang) - and let your outside leg hang back. Then let go with your outside hand (the one where the armit area is NOT touching the pole) and stretch it towards to floor. Now loosen your grip on your inside/dominant hand and the inside/hooked leg, until you slide down the pole a little. Have your free hand reaching down below your head ready to support your weight when you can touch the floor. Keep loosening your grip and sliding. When your free hand is on the ground, you'll need to push up with it and lock your elbow in (like handstand) and then grip with your leg that's on the pole, while you take your other hand down to the floor too.
yup, thats it, except you would release your leg from the pole and both legs would be in a chopper/V position over your head. am not worried about strenght as much as balance ( once your leg is no longer around the pole and over your head). i will def give it another try and report back 🫡 thanks!! ☀️ 🥂

This is one of those moves that i could never do, and then it just clicked one day out of the blue. I'm not really sure what it was that caused me to suddenly get it, but i think it may have been getting into a very good-formed scorpio, with a big arch in my back before sliding down into a handstand and releasing my leg from the pole. This form caused the pole to be further behind my shoulder, allowing me to have more support for keeping my balance, and for keeping my arms straight. I don't know if there's more to this move that i haven't noticed myself doing, but i hope this is helpful! good luck! 🥂

Ah yes if you're trying to do it with both legs free (I used to call it the twisted handstand, because your torso crosses the pole) I recommend sticking your bum out quite a bit (ie arching your back as azriel said). I also find this much more difficult than the regular handstand, because it's more difficult to get my hands positioned correctly to bear the weight. Good luck!
