Reversed progress

Haven't learned a new trick in over a month...pretty discouraging. I've even lost some tricks. As of now I think I can do 3 or 4 tricks that I couldnt so at this time last year and my time is about to be occupied with competition so I probably won't be learning anything new for quite awhile. I did take on spinning pole, so does that count as new tricks? Kinda doesn't feel like it. Trying not to let it bother me cuz I really so love seeing everyone's success! It's just really hard for me to not to compare pole journeys...hoping this gets easier with time and pole wisdom 🙏

I'm feeling kind of in a rut too. My pole room is kind of in disarray. My new pole is up but I barely got a chance to use it... I did manage to get myself motion sick though. And I'm feeling weak (PMS isn't helping). I need to get back in my groove. I was happiest trying new things... And learning moves. Lately such an emphases has been placed on dancing I don't feel like I've progressed at all. When I'm trying to flow I usually don't attempt things that look messy. Then those moves start to slip... Also this is silly. But if my camera isn't charged or my memory card is full it makes practicing more annoying. I like having my camera set up and ready. Everyone feels like people are progressing faster than them at times... But I've seen you pole. You're strong and fluid. You'll kick this rut soon!

There seems to be a number of us in a rut! Some might be deeper than others. I have done almost no pole work in the past two years (and not that much the few years prior) and attempting to get back into it a little more seriously. Was caregiver for my Father until he passed away and dealing with my own heath issues put poling lower in priority. In addition I had to stop all exercise for almost four months this year and just slowly getting my strength back. Even some basic things I had done before I am struggling with. I took my mirror down because I know how sloppy I am and don't want to look at myself! Going to spinning pole I think counts as New and you have learned a few new moves you said. As you progress further, new moves generally have a steeper learning curve. Takes longer to tackle each. But you are preparing for competition and that shows a major progression I think.

It's totally normal and happens to everyone! Have you see this? There's nothing wrong with just enjoying what you know, it's ok to take a break from always trying to learn new tricks. Thanks for the support y'all :) Veena, that article is just what i needed to see/hear ^_^ thanks for that! And alyson I hear ya, I haven't gotten to use my TG yet either! The hopefully final piece of the puzzle (the right extension) comes in Friday and I'm tempted to call in sick to work Saturday just so I can have pole therapy time! Webjunk, I'm so sorry to hear about your father, and being a caregiver is very challenging especially if its your family. I'm glad you are healthy enough to get back to poling, as frustrating as it may be. I had an injury that stopped me from being able to exercise at all for 3 or 4 months and Veena's 30 day plan was so helpful. I've thought about doing it again and modifying it just to get out of the rut
