Ready to order my SV pole! But..

There's just one problem...I noticed its for 8-9ft ceilings which, mine being more like 7ft, was workable with my xpole. Will the SV pole be too big, or will I be able to get it up a smaller ceiling height? Push comes to shove I guess it can go up in my garage but that's not very safe to me...
