Random Question about Sarah Cretul & USPDF Vids

I've learned that Alethea and Felix both had gymnast/dance backgrounds, but I am wondering about Sarah Cretul. I was watching her youtube vids and her strength is amazing - and from what I've gathered, she was the first to do (thus the inventor of) the twisted grip lift. Is that correct? Her early vids are from when she was an exotic dancer, but I am wondering if there is more to it (i.e., if she had a gymnast background too) - or if that was how she began and perfected her work. I am also dying to see her performance at the USPDF when she won Ms. Trixster, but I can't find it anywhere. Where can you find the old USPDF vids other than youtube?

Sarah comes from a Romanian acrobatic family. She told me stories of her mother's influence & longing to have her talents.

As far as I know VPC never aired. I know that Alethea won one of the rounds but have no idea where the show went after that. As for Sarah's USPDF routine, have you checked the USPDF site? I know they had some of the previous years performances. I cannot acces it from work. I also remember seeing it on facebook but I don't remember who had it there.

Thanks for the responses. She is so strong, my first thought was that she had to have more of a background than just dancing. She looks so tiny too! Too bad Vertical Pole Challenge never aired, it looked awesome!! USPDF website has a few highlight reels, but I'd love to go back and see the whole competitions from the previous years. Oh well, I guess I'll just keep youtubing it to get my fix 😀

If I'm remembering correctly, I think Sarah also was an ice skater. And she is TINY! Smaller than Karol even. What cracks me up about Sarah is her face--total lack of expression or effort. She's so zen when she poles. I've done a few workshops with her and she finds everything so easy that she can't even understand when things are hard for us. She's like, what do you mean you can't lift into a TG?! Just do it! She's hysterical! :-)

I don't know why USPDF took down the vids from the first championship, but I'm also very frustrated about trying to find these videos. I would LIKE to purchase them or something (anything!) but as far as I know they are not available anywhere and if they are USPDF pulls them asap. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY and I'm amazed that any of us have ever even seen the competitions unless we've paid the outrageous ticket, travel, and lodging prices. Btw, when you have a lousy part time minimum wage job like I do it makes that event all but an impossibility to be a part of and, to be honest, I feel rather slighted by these conditions. Just saying, I'm tired of patiently hoping a the chance to see these performances for myself. Anyway, besides that, I don't know very much about Sarah Cretul but I have been told a few who've met her that she is about 5'1" or 5'2"; the woman's body is 100% lean muscle even up close; she has a great sense of humor; Alethea has mentioned in the past about her pestering Sarah to go online more often; she used to (or currently) has worked to some degree as a paranormal investigator; she also worked under the name "Bambi" as an exotic dancer at the Spearmint Rhino in West Palm Beach and as "Joy" at Lollipops in Daytona Beach, Florida. I would love to meet her and I hope she will return to compete again someday. From what I've gathered from random chit-chat is that she is taking some sort've hiatus to pursue other interests...I heard something about marriage and motocross but I can't verify that. lol

I could swear I read an article from a Florida newspaper right around the time of the first comp and it said that her mom worked as an exotic dancer and that Sarah would go in and play around on the poles when she was young. She is a sweetheart, I had a lesson with her in Virginia. She told me that had booked a travelling job to teach lessons once before that and after she paid her travel costs she didn't make a profit. The girl's got so much talent it's incredible, but she doesn't seem super interested in entering our little pole world. Oh, and she is definitely super tiny. I'd say around 90 lbs. She is just adorable!

This was her 2010 performance. If you look at the 2009 highlights her hair was brunette and she was wearing a pink top and black shorts.

Love the responses, I like learning about the dancers I enjoy. I love knowing peoples "stories" - where they came from, what started them out, how they learned, their trials and tribulations, etc. She does have this uninterested air about her during her performances, but I like that, it's part of her charm I think. It seems like her and pole were meant for each other, and I see why she has this "what, it's not hard" attitude, everything seems so simple to her - very natural and effortless. It's unfortunate that she's falling away from pole, but, so be it, everyone has to do what makes them happy I suppose. As for USPDF and vids, I don't get that either. Once a comp is over, they should have some means of airing the competition (DVD sales, or just via the internet). It would serve as a good way to bring and keep interest in the event. I still feel incomplete not having seen Alethea's handcuff performance. And, why oh why can't they find a way to put this on TV?!! I mean really, they televise golf and not pole dancing!!! C'mon!! I would love to see Wikipole have a section about the women in the sport and their stories. They have a link under navigation that displays a random page and it just happened to pop up a bio on Jenyne Butterfly. I never realized that she took a job as a cocktail waitress at a club in order to pay for school (and it just so happened that was the same club that Pantera worked at)! And that was how she became interested and involved in the pole world - such cool little facts!! But, I can't figure out how to navigate back to that - it just was the random page that popped up at that time. We totally need a TMZ for pole dancers : ) Thanks for sharing your info and links!!

@MommaBear: When you go on the wikipole.org page, then to "Articles" - there's a section called "who's who of pole dancing". There are some dancers listed ... sometimes there's a lot of information and sometimes just a few sentences about them though.

@chemgoddess1 Thanks for the clarification. Think the poster actually had 2019 or something?!? Was good to see some of her USPDF work nonetheless! And yeah they shld totally televise it -- in oz the APD championships were aired on pay Tv

Sarah Cretul is definitely a favorite of mine! Yes, she has had gymnastics training in the past. She was also into track and field which explains a lot of the endurance she has to effortlessly transition from trick to trick! She's amazing and really sweet :). She is missed in the pole community these days

I also remember when she first popped up on YT explaining somewhere that she taught herself how to do pole tricks because her mom was an exotic dancer and she would play on the poles as a kid.

Maybe one of the reason's why USPDF isn't selling DVDs of past competitions is because they don't have the rights to the songs that were used in the performances. It's illegal to make profits off of music that isn't yours. I know that there is a yearly fee that can be paid to ASCAP to be able to use any song. Not sure if they have looked into that. But they should! I agree, they should make a DVD available for the people who can't make the events.

If it's illegal to profit off of music that isn't yours then how are they allowed to hold these competitions in the first place? I'm sure it makes them a lot more money than showing full videos (not just highlights) on their site for free like they were doing for awhile. I'd just like to know what's up with that, and it's for these exact "left-in-the-dark" reasons I haven't paid for a membership to the USPDF yet...I feel I'd just be throwing my money away for something I can't take part in even in the very least by watching.

It's a real shame you can't get the video you're looking for. I do remember seeing Alethea's handcuff performance and I'm sure it was on youtube, it was AMAZING. Like I remember feeling goosebumps and my tummy tightening up during some of her routine, it was so excellent. But now when I try find it I can't so it must have only been up for a short time. 🙁

The fastest way to contact them is through the contact button on teh bottom of the page. We must remember that Veena and Webby are in the midst of moving and are also in a different time zone. It is not even 8am where they are.

I guess the postive aspect is that at least this is posted on a forum filled with supportive pole dancers, who, I would expect, would not use this information maliciously. This just further supports my position that boys are jealous and stupid LOL
