"Sweating" pole...?

This has been driving me nuts lately!! every time I clean my brass pole (i use Windex or alcohol ) it starts to "sweat" as soon as i jump on it the thing almost has a wet feeling to my hands. and its really slick on my legs. i've tried putting windex on my hands and mighty grip and it doesnt work. It doesnt really get that great grip until it gets really "gummy" with my handprints and left over windex. Is it a metal perspiration issue? my body temperature? i dont know what...? i've never had problems with it like this before. I guess it right when im training for a competition it decides to drive me insane!! 😈 🧿

I saw this post earlier....and I'm still thinking 🤔 .....I have the same trouble with my titanium gold pole. It gets almost sweaty when the humidity is high...we have had rain a lot lately. 🤔 🤔

so with your titanium gold pole but not your regular xpole? humm...maybe it has something to do with the brass, since the gold is the closest to being brass. i keep my house warm but not that warm! lol

Sounds like condensation to me... It's only after you clean it? 🤔 Maybe try using a dehumidifier for the day when you clean it? I dunno... *shrug*

Yes, only on my TG not the Chrome finish.....It's not visible like condensation, but a dehumidifier might help! 🥂

This happens on my TG often too. I'm pretty sure it's condesation becuase it usually happens when the relative humididty is above 80%. Most of the time I can't see the condensation, but I can feel it. BUT if I look really really carefully, I can see the condensation "smearing" around the pole. Espeically if the pole is cold and my hands are warm. Problem is I can't put on the dehumidifyer in the winter becuase my legs are very very dry and it's basically a choice between slippy hands or no leg grip.

wow that sounds exactly like my problem. atleast i know its not just me 😕 thanks for the topic reply. my legs are very dry too now and NOT sticking, its actually quite funny...well maybe not 😈 but i found that mighty grip and curel lotion the night before have been helping some 😉

could use rubbing alcohol instead of windex to see if that makes any difference

Condensation is a result of warm (usually moist) air comes in contact with a cool surface. Condensation is one of the reasons we have problems gripping a cold pole...if you ever notice that "wet" feeling when you grab a cold pole it's because the hand is warmer (and probably moister) than the pole so condensation forms between your hand and the pole. It happens in cold weather and in air conditioned rooms with poles if the temp is cool enough to make the pole cold. I'm guessing it's worsened in this case because the windex or alcohol is actually warmer than the pole???? I wonder if chilling the cleaning solution may result in less condensation?

WOW this is EXACTLY the problem I'm having now with my PS brass pole. I thought I was going crazy. I've never had this problem before with a brass pole or my TG xpole. But you must be right about the humidity and condensation. In canada it is SOSO dry in the winter in doors and so cold also..but the forced air makes everything dry so I have a humidifier and I'm thinking thats why. I always turn it off when i use the pole but that didnt seem to help so I guess it must be the cold pole/warm hands thing.... its really annoying tho. Did you find any solutions to this Stephanie? or are u still struggling with it? lol makes it so frustrating to practice!!!

It's just too damn cold everywhere. I have the heat on in my house to like 72 and my heating bill is huge! The only time I can get a real good practice is at the studio where they use a space heater and it gets like 80 something degrees. Then I stick like glue and it's awesome! More studio, less house. Can't wait 'til summer so I'll feel like a freakin' pro!

TG X-Pole is rubbish slippy these days.. have decided to replace it with a chrome one until the weather changes!!
